My fiance and I visited this location for the Labor Day weekend. This was our second time in 3 months visiting the city, and our second time using the Bostonian ever.
The GM Robert Rivers and I had been communicating about our return stay, and he helped us with our reservation. He arranged for us to stay in the studio suite that we stayed in during our June visit. It was perfect. Upon check-in, Robert came down to the desk to meet us and talk to us about our visit. He was so polite, and we appreciate that he took the time out of his busy day to speak with us.
The room was spotless! The bathroom was very spacious, and had all of the toiletries that we needed, or may have forgotten. Our room had a Juliette balcony, and large windows facing Faneiul Hall. Couldn't have been a more perfect view, especially in the evening.
Just like our first visit, the group of staff members that we encountered were wonderful. We were greeted with a smile every single time that we walked through the front doors, the front desk staff asked us how our day went in the city; it is just very rare to see this type of customer service these days.
Location is KEY. This hotel is located directly across the street from Faneiul Hall. Also, the convenience to the North End is perfect. With it being just a short 3-5 minute walk, we found ourselves there in the evening enjoying dinner, and picking up pastries from Mike's! For the times that we didn't feel like walking to our destination, we hopped on the T which was just a short walk, about 2-3 blocks at the most.
The restaurant downstairs, North 26, has fabulous food. We got lunch there on the first day, and enjoyed a lunch combination that they offer. I had cup of clam chowder, and a half of a turkey club. My fiance had the lobster bisque, and half of a reuben. Both meals were awesome, and well priced.
All in all, it is safe to say that we found our place to stay every time that we visit Boston. If you are looking for a place that has a homey, comfortable feel, this is the place to be. We are already planning our October/November trip back to the city...can't wait!
