We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton. We are SPG Platinum and we're treated very well. The room was comfortable with a wonderful view of the ocean and Black Rock. While we had no complaints about the room it could benefit from a new coat of paint. The breakfast buffet was delicious and we enjoyed a light meal at the Cliff Dive Bar one evening. We have stayed at several places on the Kaanapali Coast and this is our favorite location. Black Rock is right there, it's easy to access beach paths to the north and south of the hotel and it has a quieter feel to it than many of the other properties which worked out well since our primary purpose for this trip was to rest and relax. This is the only hotel I would go recommend staying at in the area.

We are Starwood members and were pleasantly surprised to see a Sheraton on Maui, as we've had excellent experiences at Sheratons throughout the world. Unfortunately, this property falls vastly short of what we have always loved about the Sheraton.

Overall the property is far more gimmicky and tourist than we realize. There a number of hidden resort fees that accompany the stay which was an unwelcome surprise as that wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. The pool is fine, although it's fairly small for the size of the hotel. The hotel restaurants and bars are really expensive for the quality which is why we left the resort for almost every meal and activity.

The beach front is beautiful but the beach itself is beginning to disappear so you'll be shifting around a lot to accommodate the tides.

The property is also fairly outdated. That's not a huge deal, but the price tag is reflective of the ritzy Kaanapali area so it is something worth mentioning.

Overall, we felt the property would be best suited for families with younger kids because you wouldn't necessarily need to leave the resort. For anyone who likes to explore, likes food and activities, this is probably not the best place as you'll be paying for a lot of features and amenities (I use that term loosely) you won't use.

Well how apt!!- this is the card left in your deluxe room when you require your bed linen changed- not sure if you're only supposed to use it when the linens are torn !!- pretty poor form for a 5 star hotel

This review is way over due! This hotel is awesome...Went here for our BABYMOON December 16-20, 2015.

This beachfront hotel has beautiful views, close to Black Rock and Ka'anapali Beach and also Whalers Village.

It's definitely a romantic/relaxing place to enjoy before my husband and I become first-time parents. We relaxed around the lazy river, went on a guided hike in the morning, then watched the cliff-diving torch lighting ceremony. It's close to Whalers Village (walking distance) where you can do lots of eating & shopping. Snokerling and laying-out at Ka'anapali Beach was the best! There are lots of Sea Turtles (Honu) swimming around Black Rock. My husband was brave enough to jump off Black Rock as I floated along the side.

For meal options we ate at Black Rock Kitchen. The service was slow and the food ended up being cold once we got served. For breakfast we went to Island Vintage Coffee (in Whalers Village)...they had the best acai bowl and lox bagel. For dinner check out Teppanyaki 2 Go by 808...we ate dinner on our balcony and watched the sunset go down.

This hotel is perfect based on location; we'll definitely be back again when we come back to Maui.

Beautiful location. Great breakfast buffet. We enjoyed a great ocean front room. Staff friendly. Pool is not heated which did not make us happy. Room was satisfactory but needs a little updating. The padding on the verandah chairs was torn and disgusting. Restaurant prices too high for dinner quality.
