Wai Ola is a great place to stay and terrific base from which to explore Maui. The premises are neat and tidy, and the kitchen (upstairs) and BBQ (by the pool) are well-stocked. You can easily walk to town, or take the bus if you so choose. Jim is a genial host and always around if you need something or have a question that can be answered best with local knowledge. Our party of 6 had a very relaxing time--drinks by the pool, dinner on the deck with a bottle of wine--what's not to like!

We had an absolutely tremendous time. Our host was gracious and attentive, generous with provisions (local fruit and baked treats) and recommendations, tools to make our stay easier (beach chairs, laundry facilities, beach towels), and maintains a lovely retreat amidst a beautiful island. The honeymoon cottage is everything you need and nothing extraneous. We enjoyed the outdoor grills frequently during our stay. We look forward to our next trip.

Our three-generation family group of eight spent two weeks at Wai Ola in March and had a wonderful time. We have been traveling together to a tropical location for nine years so we are seasoned in our expectations. Wai Ola met, or exceeded our expectations in every area. The property is maintained in excellent condition and Jim met our every need. Jim welcomed us with fresh fruit and delicious bakery muffins. He also provided unlimited Maui coffee beans throughout our stay. We would highly recommend this property.

Room Tip: We rented the entire house except for the honeymoon cottage. All of the rooms are excellent.

Wai Ola is a small B&B in Lahiana, walking distance to several very nice, local restaurants and the beach. We stayed in the Honeymoon Cottage. It was big, clean, and had a very nice private balcony with a sea view. We grilled out on the poolside grills and ate on our own private balcony. The kitchen was simple but sufficient with plenty of stuff to make a romantic dinner for two with fresh fish from the local grocery. The place was clean and well kept. The owner/operator, Jim Wicker, was full of travel tips and ideas of things to do, and provided excellent recommendations for places to visit, how to get there, and how long it would take. He also made several reservations for us prior to our arrival for things that would fill up before we arrived. He provided a fantastic plate of local fruit we noshed on all weekend. Super guy and super place.

We spent a week here with our Children and Grandchildren ~ 14 of us. Jim was wonderful to work with from the beginning to the end. If ever a need Jim met it. It is a great central location to beaches and walking distance to Lahiana. Pool and hot tub were one of the favorite things to do. Accommodations were clean. There were many amenities that I never expected for us to use. It was like living in our own home. It was so close to the pier we could walk to our excursions. We would definitely visit this vacation home again.

Room Tip: We loved the Honeymoon Suite which we stayed in before the kids came. It was the coolest and quieter since it is a bit separate from the main house.
