Embedded is lush gardens with flamingos, swans, ducks, fish, and cute South African blackfeet penguins The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is rightfully listed among the top hotels to stay in Maui. The hotel was built in the 80ies and the rooms are slightly dated but very well kept and clean. The location right be the beach is wonderful and the service is impeccable. The pool area is amazing and comes with two zones (adult/kids with water slide) connected through a grotto, which also features a pool bar. All restaurants on site have great food and happy hours although the charming neighboring small town Lahaina 10 min south is worth visiting for breakfast, lunch or dinner (so is Whalers' Village just north of the hotel). Rent a car to get around and explore the island (sunrise on top of the vulcano, Road to Hana etc.). The hotel offers self park and valet parking options ($22/$32 in Sep 18) and a star gazing event every night on the hotel rooftop..The hotel's Luau show is worthwhile attending, a 2 hour spectacle including dinner and drinks.

Room tip: If you don't like to listen to the Luau show every evening from your room, avoid the south(?) building.

My husband and I stayed here in August 2018 and we had an amazing time!

All of the staff were so very friendly and helpful and really made our stay so enjoyable. The front desk staff were very informative when we visited to ask questions. Also, we had a problem with the safe in our room, and this was rectified super quickly after we reported it.

We booked a sea view room, and we were so glad we did as the view was just wonderful. Our room was clean and comfortable but it looked a little dated. The bedroom area was large and spacious, however the bathroom was very small.

We visited the restaurants/bars in the hotel and had great food/drinks in them all. We really enjoyed spending time around the pools and gardens as well as the beach. The spa was fabulous and I had a great massage.

We attended the honeymooners reception at the hotel which was great; and it was lovely to meet and chat with other couples on their honeymoons. We also attended the Drums Of The Pacific Luau. We booked the VIP tickets, and had great seats. The show was amazing, the food and cocktails were really good and the whole evening was very well organised.

Maui was truly amazing and we really hope to visit again in the future. We would happily stay at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa again.

We booked the room 'Partial Ocean Views' and stayed for 7 nights.
The hotel is amazing, the rooms are clean and spacious and pools are gorgeous.
There is kind of Petting zoo, kids liked it, especially the penguins.
Staff was very nice and useful.
Valet parking was just great.
And of course the beach, near to Kaanapali Beach which I think is the beautiful beach in Maui.
The hotel is highly recommended

We reserved 4 rooms for our family group. Check the price daily. It varies greatly. Grab it if you see anything in the $300 range.
The resort is great! Who would believe penguins in Hawaii!? The luau, Drums of the Pacific, is said by locals to be the best on Maui. Food was buffet style. Very good and well organized. It was about 30 min too long for the grand kids.
Pool chairs get claimed early so grab yours when you go down to the coffee shop in the AM.
Decide ahead of time if you want to go through the time share presentation. If not, don’t let them suck you in.
Concierge and lobby staff are extremely helpful. Jim cleaned up our complicated reservation with ease!

Went to the Hyatt Regency Maui when I was a child 17 years ago. I got married and came back with my wife and had an outstanding experience. I can not recommend this hotel enough. From the valet to management the staff is incredible and met all of my needs and expectations.
