Embedded is lush gardens with flamingos, swans, ducks, fish, and cute South African blackfeet penguins The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is rightfully listed among the top hotels to stay in Maui. The hotel was built in the 80ies and the rooms are slightly dated but very well kept and clean. The location right be the beach is wonderful and the service is impeccable. The pool area is amazing and comes with two zones (adult/kids with water slide) connected through a grotto, which also features a pool bar. All restaurants on site have great food and happy hours although the charming neighboring small town Lahaina 10 min south is worth visiting for breakfast, lunch or dinner (so is Whalers' Village just north of the hotel). Rent a car to get around and explore the island (sunrise on top of the vulcano, Road to Hana etc.). The hotel offers self park and valet parking options ($22/$32 in Sep 18) and a star gazing event every night on the hotel rooftop..The hotel's Luau show is worthwhile attending, a 2 hour spectacle including dinner and drinks.
