Amazing hotel with great facilities and close to other local restaurants, shops and attractions. The pools are wonderful for children to explore with waterfalls and slides. The local beach is also lovely.

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort for a conference in April 2017. Very convenient as the conference was at the resort. The resort is older and rooms are somewhat outdated. However, rooms were clean and comfortable. Walls were very thin and we could hear every word that our neighbors were saying. Especially bad the last night we were their and our neighbors had 2 small children who woke up very early Hawaii time (because they were still on mainland time). The kids were being exceptionally loud, they were just being normal kids. The hotel should work on having better insulation in the walls. We were on the 5th floor in the building right above the Drums of the Pacific Luau. We could see and hear the Luau EVERY NIGHT! The Luau is very loud and is the same show EVERY NIGHT! It's a little too much, especially after 6 nights. Thankfully the Luau is usually over at 9PM.
The hotel grounds were immaculate! The beach was amazing! The pools are amazing! The flowers are amazing! Enjoyed the swans, ducks, birds and even the penguins!
We had breakfast every morning at Swan Court. Loved the view from Swan Court and the breakfast was very good. The staff at the Hyatt were very friendly and accommodating!

Room tip: Try not to get a room near the Luau!

Aloha! Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and our beautiful grounds, and delighted that you liked the buffet breakfast and views from Swan Court. We wish we would have known you were disappointed in your guest room as we happily would have checked our availability for another room. For future stays please contact Guest Services for any requests you may have. We have shared your comments regarding the noise with our resort management team. Thank you for taking the time to bring it to our attention. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Mahalo.

Having come annually to this hotel for 15 years, I have always loved the feeling of Aloha on this property and amongst its staff. They have moved the Regency Club to the lobby- it is now bustling and under-staffed. Gone are the leisurely mornings and evenings with the feeling that you are among family. The impact of the residences next door has been a bad thing for those seeking a quiet, peaceful vacation at the Hyatt. The pool area has always been crowded, it is now much, much worse. The beach erosion makes it less attractive than other hotels in Kaanapali and guests tend to hang out up by the pool. The BIG push to have conferences and other business related functions makes this a much LESS family friendly place to stay. Again, very different feeling than before. Sadly, we will no longer stay on this property- it has become too commercialized- a pity. We will try the Andaz in Wailea next time.

Room tip: top floor of the Atrium Building has the nicest views

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui for part of our honeymoon in April.

The hotel is situated at the beginning of the strip of hotels on Kaanapali beach but is still within walking distance to Whaler’s Village/Restaurants.

The rooms are a bit dated but more than adequate. They were decorated tastefully, had a nice bathroom/vanity area, and the view from the balcony was gorgeous (we had an oceanfront room). The hotel has beautiful, manicured grounds with exotic birds and a lovely open air lobby with a penguin habitat. The restaurants at the hotel are a bit pricy (to be expected) but were all excellent. Japengo was probably the best meal I had while I was in Maui.

Hyatt hotels are known for service and this one does not disappoint. All of the hotel employees from the front desk, to housekeeping, to dining were extremely friendly and hospitable. If I ever return to Maui I would certainly return, and would recommend the Hyatt to anyone looking for anything from a honeymoon to a family vacation.
