First impression: It was not like the pictures online. I researched, read reviews, and was disappointed with the first impression. It’s an older resort, both inside and out.
Check in: The girl at the front desk was nice and professional. I was shocked to learn that because of COVID, no housekeeping was available. It’s provided only at checkout. Apparently it was stated on the website and I missed it. Usually, a discount is applied for no housekeeping but not here. I think it was mostly a money saver for the hotel vs customer safety.
Room: I paid for a King Room with a balcony. A picture of the “balcony” is attached to my review. No chairs provided and a very narrow older balcony.
The room was very small. I could literally reach out on my side of the bed and touch the wall. It was the same on both sides of the bed. There were nightstands with lamps on both sides of the bed. The room contained a chair, lamp, a small dorm fridge, desk, and desk chair. The carpet in the room was dirty and stained. The room also contained a table which contained a room safe. The safe was secured to the table but the table was able to be picked up and moved or relocated. Why not steal the whole table? I’ve included a picture of this also. It provided us a good laugh.
The TV was mounted on the wall. The cable provider did not provide any major channels like ABC, CBS, or NBC.
The bathroom was a closed door that contained the toilet and a very narrow shower. Now, I’m not skinny but anyone built bigger could not stand in this shower without rubbing both sides. Outside the bathroom was a sink and a small cabinet to hang clothes. Three hangers were provided.
Overall, the room was not worth the money paid for it. I’ve paid a lot less for a lot nicer accommodations.
Room Service: We ordered breakfast and was very pleased with the food and service. It was delivered by Dorothy in about 20 minutes and was delicious.
Proximity to downtown: There’s a shuttle but within walking distance is a stretch especially if you’re older or have young kids.
Note: I had called approx a month before we arrived and discussed upgrading to a luxury one-bedroom condo. The rep told me that the King Room w/balcony would provide better views and would be a better room. If the condos adjacent to the property was the luxury condos, we made the wrong decision. They looked very nice.
We did not go to the restaurant.
We ended up checking out a day early just to leave and go somewhere else to spend our last night of vacation.
Would I stay here again? No
Was it clean? Mediocre
Value for the money? Not worth it.
Overall impression? Highly Disappointed
