I started coming to this beautiful campground a few years ago with my boyfriend. We go back every year. We totally enjoy the peaceful environment and kind people. The woods are amazing. We go home sad to leave and totally refreshed. Highly recommend

When I arrived owner drove me around to view 3 different available sites. The area is beautifully forested, lovely beach, boat launch, & they have a pontoon boat for rent. It was saturday after July 4th & they hosted a golf cart parade, potluck cookout w/alcoholic beverages & fireworks on the lake - FREE. The owners, Tim & Sherri couldn't have been more helpful and the bath/shower house was fresh & clean.

Room tip: Reasonable rates. I stayed in a travel trailer with electric/water hookup.

If you truly want an outdoor, away from it all camping experience this is the place to go. Non-Electric tent sites are down a dirt road in the woods, with fire pits and picnic tables. You can buy your own wood at the office or pick fallen wood from the forest (Like we do). Outhouses are located at the beginning of the dirt road and bathrooms and quarter showers are located on the other side of the office. Outhouses are worn and dark, so make sure to take a flash light. Or bring your own toilets bucket, just remember you will be taking garbage home with you. Showers and bathrooms located by the office have running hot water, make sure to wear water shoes in the shower. For some reason people do not close the bathroom doors when they leave, which does lead to spiders and bugs in the bathrooms. Which should be expected anyway because you are in fact in a forest.
The Boon Docs (Bar located behind the office) is like stepping back into the 80's. I happened to love this about the bar. Old school videogames line the walls (If any of the games are off, just ask the bar tender to kindly turn them on). 2 pool tables and an air hockey table. Their is plenty of space and tables to have a large group of people. Keep in mind they do not have a food menu, but do have chips and frozen pizzas. The bar is only open on the weekends.
The beautiful Boulder Lake is located only steps away from the bar. Kayak rentals are available per hour or day. A huge play ground for kids is also located near the beach.
The owners are very kind people, who single handedly upkeep and take care of the beautiful piece of land. The prices are fair for what you get. And it is a beautiful and peaceful get away.

We camp all over from WI to Florida to South Dakota etc..I dont mind peeing by a tree but when I camp at a resort I expect somewhat clean toilets w/out feces smeared on them and bathrooms stalls. It was obvious the coin operated showers or bathroom floors were not hosed down in weeks due to femine hygiene products and stuck on bugs...very gross. I would prefer bathing in Boundary Waters up in MN rather than shower there. The owners were nice overall but really need to hire cleaning staff since they pretty much run the place themselves. Yes..I did call about the bathrooms when we were there and they were not cleaned.
