We have driven all over the Midwest for many summers with our two bicycles locked to a rack on the back of our car. This hotel's surface lot is absolutely tiny - one night the lot was full, and we were told we had to park in the adjacent public garage. All the wheels/tires were stolen from our bikes that night night. All we were told by the front desk was "here's the phone number to the police dept. - file a report."

Also, there was evidence of previous water leaks in the bathroom - on the ceiling and walls. Many floor tiles were loose - the grout was non-existent.

This was a great hotel to stay at! The employees were extremely friendly (to a Yankee lol) and always helpful. My room was spotless & clean. I even liked the fact that had seal sticker.

The gym & pool were open, but never had a chance to utilize them. There was coffee EVERY morning & most part of the day and their breakfast options were much better than previous hotels operating during COVID.

Recommend if you staying in La Crosse!!!

Our organizer had planned this trip with a stay at this hotel previous to the Covid 19 problem. We had 30 Harley Owners Group members that kept this date on our calendars regardless. The staff and management at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay safe and enjoyable, even after the Wisconsin Governor changed the rules in the middle of our stay. We had preferred parking for our motorcycles and found the hotel clean, with the pool and hot tub open and some of our group opted to spend a little extra for hot breakfasts in the morning, as the virus had shut down the expected complementary breakfast buffet that most travelers now expect with a hotel stay. If we ever decide to plan another group ride to LaCrosse, we will keep this Holiday Inn on the top of our list.

Where do I begin? I fell asleep around midnight and now am completely awake an hour 1/2 later due to the loud equipment noises, and musty smelling air. A humming/pinging noise is constant. We asked for a different room from the first because of this noise and also, the toilet clogged upon one use. So we got a different room and the same pinging noise persisted.

You’d think the young men at the front desk would have put us in a different area, instead of just one floor above. There is no difference than the first. And then the room has the old-fashioned warm/cool air blower and at times the fan makes so much noise you think it’s going to take off.

But the worst offense was the large group of guests hanging out, just outside the entryway. No social distancing and definitely no masks. All incoming guests had to walk by this group, (and get stared at for wearing a mask). My fiancé and I were quite uncomfortable having to wait around for a cart to use for our luggage, then walkthrough it again.

Another concerned guest asked the front desk guys what they were going to do about it, and it was basically - nothing. A worthless apology.

In fact, he and his family were the only other guests with masks on, during a time when COVID-19 is spreading exponentially in the US.

I can’t wait til daybreak to get out of this hotel, and town, and pray we did not get infected with the virus.

It’s a shame. Of three hotels this past week, these beds are the most comfortable. But, I do not recommend. The noise and environment is way too stressful.

From check in knew there was gong to be issues, the check in was smooth but when asked questions about the fireworks on the bluff the desk person said only know what's going on around the hotel, and a smile would have cracked her face. No people skills at all. So the room was nice but when we went to use the fridge, someone prior had left a package of blueberries in the fridge which leaked all over the fridge. Not sure who long they were there but you would have thought housekeeping would have seen the mess and cleaned it up. Would think someone would check on house keeping, Also only one elevator was working and when getting ready to leave took forever to get on. Parking is limited and you have to use the city ramp attached to the building. Breakfast is available but at a cost.

Room tip: Whatever room you have you will have noise from downtown traffic and people.
