Owner description: Circus World in Baraboo is America's favorite circus attraction! Baraboo was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918, and during those thirty-four years the operation grew to become the largest circus enterprise the world has ever known. Although the Ringlings left in 1918, many of their original structures survived.During the summer months, Circus World comes to life with daily live shows and demonstrations. See the world’s largest collection of glorious parade wagons plus 7 authentic Ringling Bros. buildings filled with colorful, big top memories. Enjoy elephant, pony and carousel rides; cotton candy, ice cream, tasty sandwiches and our main lobby gift shop. Experience a live circus performance and entertaining Nothing But Nonsense show with Steve & Ryan. Experience the thrill that never grows old at Circus World!

Circus buff or not, you will enjoy the large collection of circus wagons. Beautiful art work on each is amazing. The calliopes are a treat for children and adults.

The daily Big Top show is fun and a amazing feats of past circus performers. Really skilled and hard working performers.

Save time for the amazing poster collection. Some dating back as far as the beginning of circus. Colors and art work of old posters just beautiful.

We visited right after the summer season ended, that meant no live shows, however we were not disappointed. Circus World had few visitors that day, leaving us plenty of time to read about and photograph the fantastic collection of wagons there. Many brought back childhood memories.

Ken,

Thank you for visiting and your thoughtful review. While live summer programming has ended for 2017 (returning again May 18th, 2018), we feature over 60 acres and five buildings to explore. We are glad to read that your visit "revived those childhood circus memories". Circus is timeless and truly for Children of All Ages. We hope that your future travel plans allow for a return visit.

The circus museum was magical in that the exhibits were arranged well, and made the past come to life. The live circus show under the big top (including elephants) was a unique piece of Americana. This was a wonderful experience and a top ranked attraction. The admission is included in one's membership to the Wisconsin Historical Society (strongly recommended)

We had traveled through Baraboo many times over the past 50 years but never had time to visit Circus World. We made it our reason for going there, this time. This is a great attraction, showing the history of the circus. It also shows a little of what the great circuses of the past were like. When planning a trip to C W, set aside an entire day for it. Go between mid May and late Aug. in order to see the big top show. This is an attraction for people of all ages.

Mike,

Thank you for visiting the Baraboo Area and choosing us as the "reason for going there". We agree that our guests during the summer performance season (typically Memorial Day to Labor Day) can spend an enjoyable full day with us. The Spring and Fall seasons we recommend a 3 hour time allotment to see all of our exhibits and wagon collection. We hope that your future travel plans will allow for a return visit.

We visited Circus World Museum with our 7 year old grandchildren. I personally wasn't quiet sure what to expect as I had grown up in the area and visited it as a child. I was in for a huge and pleasant surprise! The grounds are nice and thoughtfully laid out. Some original buildings are on the grounds yet and open but when you cross the Baraboo river via a walking bridge your world turns magical. There are tents, concessions, popcorn and cotton candy. To the right is a playground for the kids and a merry-go-round along with the museums circus wagons. We didn't make it into the buildings because of the kids but enjoyed every show. Our grandson laughed out loud at the slap stick comedy show for the entire time. I had so much fun just watching him! There was also a Big Top show that was done with some very talented people. In the circus the team is responsible for many tasks and this team was working 7 days a week. Talented crew. I would recommend it for every age. The seniors were entertained and looked like they had returned to their youth and the kids of every age had smiles. Great trip to a great destination. It is for the generations and is accessible.

Ronald, thank you for visiting and your thoughtful review. The circus has always counted "children of all ages" as our extended family; it is terrific to note that all generations in your group had an enjoyable time. As you so wonderfully note, some of our best days are watching the joy and excitement on the faces of our younger guests. That same experience is tough to derive from today's modern electronic devices. We are blessed to have a talented group of performers, volunteers and staff that bring magic to our 64 acres 7 days a week as you noted. Thank you for that generous notation. We truly hope that your future travel plans allow you to visit again in the future.
