If you are a frequent pleasure traveler who is accustomed to deluxe accommodations, you may be disappointed. If you just want a clean room and a comfortable bed for the night, you could do far worse.

Unless you don't mind hauling your luggage up a flight of stairs, make sure you ask for a first-floor room, because this two-story building does NOT have an elevator.

The air conditioning units are a bit on the loud side. This doesn't bother me because the white noise helps me sleep, but if you like quiet, you may have to choose between keeping the room quiet and keeping it at a comfortable temperature.

The water pressure is quite good. I had a really nice hot shower this morning.

Internet is a bit ... sticky.

The free breakfast bar is adequate, certainly better than the storied "continental breakfast" of muffins and fruit. This morning I had a biscuit, scrambled eggs, sausage links and sausage gravy, coffee and juice. Fruit and cereal are also available. It might not please a food critic, but it was filling.

I come to Bluefield about once a year, usually for the first high school football game of the season, and I usually stay here. It's not bad for the price, but if have higher standards, you may wish to check into one of the newer hotels in nearby Princeton.

Room tip: No elevators, so request a first floor room if you don't like lugging stuff up the stairs.

After driving about 10 hours we finally made it to Bluefield on our way to Somewhere Special GemMine. We saw a few hotel signs including this one. It looked nice so I went in and got a room. It was $77 with a discount rate which I thought it was a good price. When we got to the room and after a minute or two trying to get the door handle to work we walked in, at first it looked nice. The heavy window blinds were open and the shear ones were closed. Being on first floor I wanted to close the heavy ones also since there was a sidewalk right outside my window. These blinds aren’t made to close. My son went out and threw the shear blinds could see how many fingers I was holding up. After looking closer I noticed holes in each blind so we used them to get at least some privacy. Then we noticed the toilet keeps running on and off, the toilet is only about 6” above my ankle. The bathroom sink is about 12” below my waist, and when you turn the shower on only about half of the water makes it to the shower head. Also when you flush the toilet you have to hold the handle the entire time. Next my boy was all set to go swimming, we walked out to the pool and seen bigger bugs swimming around eating the smaller ones, it was covered in bugs as you can see in the pictures. Also when I pulled the covers down to get in bed, when I set down I noticed these beds are the hardest beds I ever felt, i’m not looking forward to morning after sleeping in these beds all night. The TV is great, all 12 channels that doesn’t have a preview guide, so you have to flip threw the channels and threw the snow try to make out what is on cause it doesn’t tell you anything, it took 10 minutes to flip threw because our remote was broke and only wanted to work when it wanted to. Would I stay here again.....NOPE

Dear Valued Guest,

On behalf of Quality Hotel and Conference Center we would like to thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey. We value your opinion and feedback and the information that you use in the survey assists us in further training and staff development.

We do apologize for failing to meet and or exceed your expectations. The drapes at the property in which some guest get confused is a set of three. The first is the actual curtain which is partial, the second is the sheers which sheers are able to be seen through and the third is the actual black out which allows privacy so that no one can see through.

The swimming pool is monitored daily and tested so that all levels stay at the correct level for pool operation and protection of our guest. We have a system on the pool that also assist maintenance in keeping the water within the pool looking good and clear. We monitor the area simply because we have guest that like to sit outside the pool area and drink and cook out and socialize, but they fail to dispose of items even with trash cans being on deck.

We do not have a large band of television channels as someone would have in their home rather we have 34 channels that are required by choice and approved provided through our local carrier in the area. In the guest room directory is the channel guide and listing of our channels the hotel offers.

As much preventative maintenance that anyone attempts to do and staying on top of things in the industry at various given points of time things will malfunction and we make every effort to stay on top of things and had we know there were any issues rest assured that we would have definitely be on top of getting this items corrected.

Once again, I do apologize for failing to meet and or exceed your expectation.

Sincerely,

Anthony Bell,
General Manager

Do not stay at this hotel due to the poo condition it is kept in. The rooms are not clean, sheets dirty, mold in bathrooms found by the board of health, and carpet beetles.
I had a brown beetle on my pillow when I woke 1am and called downstairs that morning and told them. Nothing was done about it. When I got home, I brought the carpet beetles with me and it took over 6 months to resolve. It was awful. The management refuses to do anything about it. There are nicer and new hotels 20 mins away in Princeton. I would stay there.

Room tip: Bugs and dirty do not stay here

The hotel is a bit off I77 but well worth the extra few miles to find it. It is the nicest Quality branded facility we have ever stayed in! The lobby/breakfast area is VERY nice. Facility is very well maintained, clean, safe with welcoming staff. Our room was very comfortable (expected it to be and was not disappointed). Basic rate was reasonable and with my son's veteran's discount, it was an even better deal!!

This hotel will be our preferred place for another overnight stay if/when we make a long road trip down I77.

Room tip: We had an 'accessible' room with plenty of floor space. Chair height toilet had floor mounted support arms on both sides.

Gentleman rock. It's my understanding that an investor just bought the hotel. So, as during any transitions, some things work so and others will be updated at the appropriate time. What sells this hotel is the staff. Flat out, they made this trip to provide some Twelfth Step work for a vet with mental health issues one of my best trips. The night clerk has so many jokes that I had to run outside to release two Starbucks espressos. I hope things work out for this property. Congrats ladies and gentleman.
