The staff were the best we could imagine, so friendly and attentive. Of course in a week you get busy times but we never felt forgotten and the genuine friendly personalities of so many staff could be no co-incidence, they were all very good and acted as a team well. We had many special moments. The room was very good and the air conditioning effective and very quiet overnight. We enjoyed our meals which were high quality and served in fantastic surroundings. The large pool and surroundings were excellent for lazing the day away in lovely weather and superb views over the valleys and mountains beyond. The standard of public areas was really excellent and being a small hotel then no where ever felt busy. The reception staff helped whenever we had questions about days out and rang around to resolve any details they did not immediately know. We have been to a good number of luxury hotels in the UK and abroad and this is the best and the biggest single factor was the friendly helpful staff.

Impressive 300 year old manor house hotel set in a stunning mountain location. Small & isolated with a range of room types. We were in a Deluxe pool room about 200 metres from the main building with our own pool & terrace area which was a sun trap for most of the day. The room (53) was a good size, well decorated & equipped although there was a slight musty smell which was due to some damp in the bathroom – I was a bit surprised to find this but I suppose it will be fixed in due course. The main building is very impressive with a choice of lovely rooms & sitting areas, a nice breakfast area & 2 beautiful restaurants with glorious views over the mountains. The pool area is a lovely relaxing spot and staff are generally very friendly.

The only problem we had with the hotel was a large group dinner that took over the place one evening. They had aperitifs on the patio area which Is normally popular with the hotel residents but the sheer size of the group overwhelmed the rest of us. Arrangements should have been made to keep the private party separate. I know hotels need to make money but mixing a large private function and residents in such a small hotel just does not work. Without this problem the hotel would easily merit 5 stars but for the price we paid I didn’t expect this sort of experience.

I am very sorry for the inconveniences caused. You are certainly right, we had an unusual and rainy winter, but the damp in the bathroom is fixed and the room now looks amazing.

Stunning property in the mountains with incredible accommodation, lovely staff watch out for Enricho the sommelier, he was very good at twisting my rubber arms when it came to choosing wine in the elegant Oleum restaurant! food was tremendous with a well balanced and thought out menu. Gran Hotel Son Net was absolutely unbeatable on so many levels, our favourite place in Mallorca by a country mile and up there as one of the best places I have stayed in. Keep it up and can't wait to return. Thank you to all who looked after us.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw looked lovely, there is even a seperate Cottage with its own pool

The hotel cannot decide whether its a wedding venue or a hotel catering for their guests. We booked the suite which was located above a function room. Oh no - on the Saturday night music blasted out until 1 a.m. in the morning. The hotel lacked enough staff and you had to search for waiters to ask for a drink. Breakfast staff were rude and not attentive at all. The hotel needed refurbishment and rough around the edges. We would never stay at this hotel again. We hope the new manager every success in turning this hotel around - he will need it.

What you encountered does not reflect the Son Net experience and for that I offer my sincere apology. We measure ourselves in terms of quality, service and excellence, so we are always disappointed when our guest's experience falls short of expectations.

I would like to take the opportunity to answer to your review and start with informing you that we have not changed the management of Son Net, but we have assigned new managers and are pleased to count on a team of experienced and talented managers and supervisors.

I am proud to say that we treat all our guests with upmost respect. We love to serve people with a big smile and personalized service is what Son Net stands for. I am very sorry to read that you felt that our staff at breakfast was not attentive. I have shared your comments with our two breakfast supervisors and we will continue our training to ensure that other guests will enjoy a flawless breakfast experience.

Son Net has one of the highest staff to guest ratios on the island and offers a wide range of dining experiences, whether it is a picknick in the vineyard, a light lunch by the the pool or a candlelit dinner in our tree house. We want to create memories for a lifetime and we are certain that manpower is needed for this daily challenge.

We are delighted to inform you that we invest every year in our property. Over the last three years we spent over 2 mio EUR in furniture, fabrics and technology amongst other items. Our aim is to continue to improve the hotel and to maintain its beauty without losing any of its renown charm and authenticity. The building is over 400 years old and due to its characteristics, we have a full time painter and a restaurateur employed.

Regarding the actual evening of the event which was the root of your complaint. We proactively informed you in advance and invited you to a special dinner on that evening. The wedding group stayed 45 minutes longer on the terrace before moving inside which was annoying. The night manager ensured that the volume of the music was lowered after midnight and I agree that it should not have been on at all after midnight.

We apologized and waived the room charges for the night of the wedding the following morning as we felt responsible for your lack of rest. Upon check out, we furthermore extended a complimentary voucher for a future stay and apologized to you in person and in writing as it has been very unfortunate that you suffered from noise. It is not exactly right that your suite was located over a function room but your living room overlooks from above the restaurant terrace, where the dinner was held. The bedroom of your suite was overlooking the quiet patio and we did not expect that you would hear anything in your bedroom.

I agree with you that we should have known better and we should have assigned a different suite in the first place. On the other hand, we strongly believe that we have tried everything possible to turn your bad experience into a positive one.

You were reminded of Son Net when you received a promotional email from us in June and you responded to the email rather harshly. I took this opportunity and apologized one more time for your experience 9 month ago in the hope to win you back as a guest. You answered politely that the chapter is closed for you now and three days later you post a negative review.


Son Net is a slice of heaven and I invite you again to experience it.

We were delighted with our stay at this gorgeous hotel. The location is stunning, the staff friendly and kind and the food in the restaurant was excellent with some unusual choices. The whole place has a great air of tranquillity.
