“Jeep Safari - Much more than I expected”

Jeep Safari Mallorca
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 25 August 2016

Booked this on the Sunbonoo web site following a google search of 'things to do in Mallorca' made a down payment on the net and paid balance on arrival.
Incidentally - did not see the trip advertised anywhere else whilst in the resort or even at the hotel with travel reps etc.. seems to be exclusive to Sunbonoo - which is surprising!
We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers - trip was well organised . i was a bit apprehensive before we arrived due previous reports of no other English holiday makers going on the trip and had visions of being in an environment where only German was spoken and feeling alienated.
This was not the case - there were only a few English families (approx 3) out of approx 24 which were mainly German / French and a Russian couple but we were allocate our own guide (Ivan) who explained everything to us in very good English.
We were allocated our own Suzuki jeep -which was very good. The trip started at about 11am and stopped for lunch at 2pm when you reached the top of the mountains - thie jouner up there was great - and sometimes a bit frightening and could not believe how rough the terrain was - it was quite challenging at times but always felt re assured with expert advice and instruction from our guide - We always felt safe! Kids enjoyed it as they could sit on the back of the jeep and hold on to the roof. Don't think I ever got out of 2nd gear!!
The paid for the lunch which was 12 euros for adults and 7 for Kids - but could have brought our own.
The only gripe i had was that there was a swimming pool at the lunch stop and would of liked to take advantage but did not bring shorts etc.. as we did not know! would have been good because we were there for about 90 min.
Following lunch we had a half hour journey back down then coach took us back to our resorts.

They offer a video DVD of your expedition which is being filmed by the guides on the jouney , however we declined as it was 30 euros and had our own camcorder.

Only downside (which is unavoidable) was the transfer time - we were picked up at 9am and it took 90min - picking other people up from different resorts.

We would definitely book this again and was surprised how good it was - thought it might be a bit of 'soft roading' but this was deffo proper off roading!

This was an excellent adventure when we first arrived and learned we had to drive ourselves a little apprehensive. Fortunately we were paired with a lovely couple who did the driving whilst we held on to the back of the jeep enjoying all the sights.staff were amazing and kept a close eye.visitors were able to stop at the mountains and pay for a three course lunch pre ordered or you can bring your own lunch. The whole trip from start to finish was enjoyable would recommend this excursion but put on lots of sun cream as very hot up the mountains.

Great day up in the mountains with fantastic views from the top. As a driver, the excursion leaders were extremely encouraging whilst remaining focused on the safety of all participants at all times. Would thoroughly recommend this activity to anyone.

We went on the jeep safari and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a must for thrill seekers, fun lovers and photographers. The views on the way up to the top of the mountain and from the top are breath taking.
We booked this trip through our local Thomas cook shop before we went on holiday but only after I had found the excursion by browsing the Internet. Thomas cook do not seem to advertise the excursion and in our hotel, there was no info about it at all.
If I hadn't already looked at Majorca excursions I wouldn't of found out about it.
We took a picnic with us as food is not included , but, you can order food from the trip guides during the course of the drive.
Go for it you will love it.

we where the only 2 English people on the trip with the rest German informed them at booking we dont drive so got a guide driving who was good.the drawback being as the rest of the party was German they made it clear they didnt want to know us so we was frozen out of everything and as they only spoke in German when it came to getting picked up by coach they asked in German and we was sat there like idiots when the guide said i forgot about English so I would check if their is a good mix of nationalities before booking

on the plus side our guides Mathius and Ivan where nice and polite to us dot go with
