This hotel continues to improve, the situation is wonderful with beautiful views, the hotel is immaculately clean, service is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are generous and well maintained. The lounge areas and pool areas are spacious clean and well maintained. The internet is free and super fast with USB charging plug sockets in all bedrooms. Food is generous and varied, using local produce. There is access to the beach and the sea. Access is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

I'm writing this because the majority of the reviews for this hotel are pretty poor and i nearly didn't book! Jet2 have taken this onto their list of hotel over the last 6-8 months and typically my experience with them is good so i gambled and went for it! i did not regret!!

First up the negative reviews are now out of date - this hotel has been modernised and is a lovely place to stop, the pics online don't do it justice! genuinely a lovely resort.

To be aware of :
Its out on a limb from Peguera so if you want the bars in the evening it can be a pain...its more than a comfortable flip flop walk away, and unless i missed a footpath not the nicest of walks. That said we went half board and the food was all varied and excellent - first night was "Asian - and included sushi, duck pancakes, sesame tuna along with the more traditional chicken noodles and rice dishes. Most nights had a pizza and pasta option if you prefer something a little more simple along with salads and sooooo many puddings!! :)
There's several seating places/areas as well and a table service bar for the evening...in short we didn't miss going into Peguera in the evenings!

Day time - the hotel is right on the edge of the sea. The beach is small but basically attached to the hotel - it also has a concrete jetty (its much nicer than that makes it sound!) round the side of this is another small cove. The "jetty" gives a great place to sunbathe and jump into the sea from!!

The hotel is at the bottom of a nature reserve, you can walk into this from within the hotel grounds, i took several short walks in it and found a couple of other little beaches too - no more than 10 mins walk once you know where they are - just follow the paths as close to the sea as you can, and you can't help but stumble across them. If you like your own private coves this is a must - or it least it was in June! The sea a little warm in the first cove too!

Rooms :
I was there with my daughter so we booked a junior suite - basically a double room with an extra lounge/dressing area with a small day bed in it. Nothing like the photos online, this was much nicer - the junior suite just allowed us both a little more privacy!

We also had a double room which was just as lovely. We had sea views for both rooms which is lovely in the morning but the sun sets behind the hotel so i f you like to sit on you balcony in the evening rather than the morning get a room round the back....i didn't see any of these so can't vouch for them. I can vouch for just having your morning coffee in your room and looking out over the sea though!

Hotel in General :
Lovely spa area inside and outside (top adult only pool). The lower pool is reserved for families which i thought was a nice touch. We used both, my daughter is 15 and she spent every afternoon with us up at the "adult" pool - obviously quietly reading rather than throwing the ball to each other from the lilos which is what we did in the mornings! (As mentioned this was us chasing the sun, although it stays at the front until early evening we did our afternoon naps and sunbathing round the back!

Bad bits :
Parking! We hired a car through Jet2 - we booked our whole holiday through them. Although the hotel has a car park they charge you €15/night to use it!! Good news for us is they didnt realise we were using it for 3 days so got away with that and then the road that runs up the side of the hotel is all free to park on and if that's full there's a free car park at the top of the hill (2-3 mins walk). Top parking tip!!! If you follow that car park right out and round to the left you end up on a dirt road that goes round the back of the hotel to a house, the house itself is gated and out the front of it is another small car park area...this is a 1-2min walk from the back of the hotel (just walk down the slope towards the hotel and you'l find the way in!) It's also shaded so your car is kept cool!! The hotel didn't mind us bringing the car into the car park to load our suitcases for departure.

Bonus!
If you have a late departure - you don't have to check out of your room till 12pm and then there's a luggage room with showers and toilets near the spa...we used the spa on our final day to ensure we were fully refreshed for the journey home!!!

All in all - the hotel has been well revived since those poor reviews if you are thinking of travelling in 2018 you will not be disappointed!

I was concerned re some previous reports , but there was no need to worry...a very good hotel nice staff, good service and superb facilities...best WiFi even near the pool.

The hotel has a split personality the bar is a 1970,s classic could be a set for a James Bond film..but the infinity pool and grill are 2018 ..so a nice mix.

Well equip room and good food add to your stay ...in my view unlike some other reviewers this is a 4 star plus hotel..it could be five stars ..and did I fail to mention the. Spa too..

Facilities - 10/10
Cleanliness - 9/10
Service and friendliness - 4/10
Food - 5/10 (apart from the breakfast which is fine. We didn't otherwise have one good meal here)

It was such a lovely trip, gorgeous setting but it seems run badly. There was no explanation of where the pools were on check in. Maybe due to the lack of languages the staff spoke. Apart from the waiters at the ground floor pool bar and the man that ran the shuttle into town none of the staff seemed to want to help or be there. Also, the rooms lacked soap, they were however otherwise very nicely designed and cleaned well each day.

I would come again but I don't know if I could advise other people to because of these floors. Food being a major one.
