Major negative was the faulty air con - no cold air blown in the room, merely a gentle fan in stifling heat. A small, bedside fan was provided on the third day - no other rooms were available. The air con is switched off at 1am for 12 hours (economy measure) therefore sleep was nigh on impossible in the oppresive heat and humidity. I left the sliding door open one night and was eaten alive by hordes of mozzies.

Kettle and cups are provided but no tea, coffee or milk. Buy these separately.

The five minute walk to the beach is at least ten minutes through the streets and shops and uphill all the way back. In 30 plus degrees that is somewhat of a sweaty slog.

No immediate car parking is available unless you strike very lucky on a local side street. Car park is 150 metres away - uphill to the hotel.

Staff members, from reception to chambermaids, waiting staff and bar staff were exemplary. Bright, cheerful and helpful. Although the hotel was full - mainly Germans - the personal touch was maintained throughout.

Food - buffet style breakfast and evening meals - was of a good standard and regularly refreshed. Somewhat manic at busy times but that's unavoidable in such a limited space. It was tight and precarious when carrying hot soup but "doable".

The conveyor belt toaster (so popular in these places) gave either hot bread with no colour or charcoal if put through twice. (Solution - put through twice but push halfway along conveyor belt for both passes).

Food choices were wide and varied. Exceptional given its 3 star rating.

The lack of air conditioning at night coupled with the long walk to beach and shops would preclude any further stays at this hotel.

Room tip: top floor room - 5th floor overlooking garden is very quiet.

I genuinely do not know where to start with my praise for this hotel! I wish I could mention all the staff that we came across by name but I did not learn them all, however I will start by saying from being greeted with the lovely smiling face of Melanie on reception to the maid service, everybody could not have been more cheerful, helpful and accommodating! Mane and Shelia particularly in the restaurant were absolutely lovely and helpful when anything was needed. Martin and Garrett covering activities and entertainment were fab and working so hard to make sure everything went off smoothly in the evenings, along with encouragement ( but not force ) to do various daytime activities. The director who oversaw everything ( and I'm sorry but who's name I didn't get ) was always on hand all round the hotel with a smile to help. So the hotel itself is run with absolute precision, the maid service is excellent and the food could not have been improved in any way, so many options available and beautifully cooked! The pool area is the most relaxing and calming place and the beach is within a four or five minute walk at most. I have nothing but praise for this hotel ( as you can tell!! ) The apartments are spacious and comfortable and the hotel rooms appear to be the same. We did not use the spa treatments but these were available should we have decided to do so. Thank you to everyone here who made our stay so enjoyable and we genuinely hope to return again very soon x

Room tip: The apartment block A was very quiet

We stayed at the hotel Valentin in Peguera for 3 nights a relaxing feeling situation 5 minutes from the beach . I would recommend this hotel for disabled guessed although I am not sure if the have special rooms . We arrived quite late and I asked the receptionist if I could buy a bottle of water but unfortunately there was none available and he did have trouble understanding English, this hotel is very German focused there was only one other English couple at the hotel ... the food was lovely lots of choice and very clean throughout. There was entertainment but although in was English music they did not speak any English ... the rooms were nice bed and pillows comfy with a hairdryer on the bathroom wall. The down sides were mainly German guess the air con went off at 4am in the morning and the balcony light was switched on & off automatically which meant it attracted the gnats in the evening. I wouldn't return to this only didn't feel very welcome.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in the middle of June and we cannot fault this hotel. Please do not be put off by the fact that the majority of guests are German this hotel and its staff caters for all!

We arrived very late on a Saturday night and the receptionist did not speak much English but we managed to understand each other just fine. We were given a room on a high floor which we had emailed them previously to ask for. We always know they can not guarantee your request but on this occasion they managed it.

We paid for an upgraded 'Superior' room in the separate block where all the rooms over look the pool and have all been refurbished to a high standard. They are modern in décor and very spacious, with the biggest bed we have ever had and it had a memory foam mattress making it very comfortable. These rooms come with a flat screen tv, kettle, mini fridge, cups and glasses. There is also a safe but this is extra at 15Euro per week with a 10Euro deposit. The air con and ceiling fan work very well but are activated by the key fob once you are in your room.

The dining room is very clean and the food was very tasty and quite varied, we managed to find something different every night and with one fussy eater in our party that's not normally the case! On our first visit down to the dining room we were greeted and led to a quiet table for 2 which is your allocated table for your stay. We noticed that the German guests would share tables even if they were separate groups. As we were the only 2 English during or visit we had a table to ourselves!

The general grounds of the hotel were kept very clean and tidy by a group of hard working maintenance staff and everything was spotless.

The evening entertainment was on every night but was not to our taste but we could watch from a distance on our balcony with a drink and we have to admit the quality of the acts was excellent.

We have to thank all the staff for not making us feel like the odd ones out! especially Melanie on reception who spoke all languages and was always helpful and smiling. We didn't have to give our room number when we needed our key she just knew!! A big thank you to the 2 staff in the dining room I think their names were Manie and Raquel, they made us feel extremely welcome and always remembered to speak English to us although we always tried to reply in Spanish!

We were a little surprised at the end of our 1st week to come back to the room to find a mini bottle of bubbles and a basket of fruit, this was a very nice touch we also had another mini bottle of bubbles on our last night to enjoy on the balcony over looking the pool and sea. Great end to a great holiday.

Would definitely recommend this 3star hotel as the service is 4 star!

Very clean apartment although had single beds that you can't put together as there is a cabinet so not great for couples.
Food was great.
Paid for a room with a sea view but was on lower ground room 711 and couldn't see the sea.
Pool was beautiful and staff were great x
