Visited here for a special anniversary, beautiful, beautiful location & ideal for an R&R break. We had a Garden View room, small but we knew that, was very clean but number of problems in our bathroom from wobbly hooks,
wobbly towel rail, shower soap holder hanging by a thread & missing finishes, shower cubicle also tiny which wasn't necessary as there was room for bigger. Definately not a 5 star bathroom. The problems we reported as we left to hopefully improve stay for next person but we didn't want the aggravation of complaining during our break as we wanted to enjoy.
Food was of an extremely high standard and more than plenty of it, the only slight down for us was the restaurant allocated you a table when you arrived which you have to have for the duration of your stay which meant we only once got a window view at a breakfast despite asking a number of times if this might be possible for dinner, we asked if this might be possible for our anniversary dinner so just for one night but it wasn't.... Dinner is served in one sitting between 8and 10pm, a bit later than we would have liked & think others felt the same given the number of people hovering near the dining room or going up early but when in Rome...or Ischia!

The pools are interesting, the main thermal one is much warmer than we expected and for me actually quite hard to swim in as the high level of mineral salts meant I floated overly well, but my husband who usually sinks like a brick actually could float! The views from the pool terrace are what this break is all about, the pool man was so attentive, giving you two clean towels each day, laying them out on your exceptionally comfy lounger & once he'd learn't if you wanted shade or sun would even assist in moving the parasols to achieve that.
We did get out a bit , one trip to the Giardini La Mortella. The hotel car drops you in a corner with a supposed 20 minute walk along a side road to make. It took us nearly an hour and wasn't straight forward, was glad we had our google maps, transpired the garden was only a 5 minute drive further up the roads so might be nice to consider dropping guests just that little further?
Taxis expensive, used one at the hotel's recommendation as not on direct bus route, to get to the Arangonese Castle about half an hour away , was told approx 25 euros each way but actually 30. Think best to consider hiring a car for the day or using local buses, 5 euros for a day if you are comfy with this. No tourist info board or area so had to ask at the desk for everything, staff always approachable & friendly but a few times language was a bit of a barrier. Think a comprehensive tourist info binder in various languages would be a great asset.
These things said, we had a lovely break, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the resort for rest and relaxation.More
