We stayed here 5 nights recently and it was a mixed experience. The location is good for me because its walking distance from the nice well organized beach that is a 10 min away. The spa pools on the property are well maintained. My complaints are the food and the spa services and costs. The food is not up to standard by any means! What had half pension which is a rip off in my opinion, they are making lots of profit here by putting out industrial quality items, such as the just ok breakfast pastry. The scrambled eggs were tasteless, you had to cook your own boiled egg if you wanted it fresh. There were cheap quality meat and cheese slices. Those awful little sausages. Nice that there was "lemon water" and the fresh juices seemed good. The breakfast tables were NEVER set with proper utensils so we always ended up getting up from our table in search of them. Often food cooked one day showed up the next on a main entree. I had pork chops they were grizzly one night. Another my blue fish I am SURE had been frozen it was tough and not at all flakey. The best things were the risottos. A decent wine was 30 euro a bottle. For this! we paid 180euro x day x person!!! a total rip off. In contrast? our group of 6 people ate lunch daily nearby, always an excellent meal! always fresh and delicious! homemade with a lovely view and great service: some ate a light meal others fresh pastas or seafood (no wine at lunch) but for this was paid average x day? euro 160. !!!! for 6 people! There was no comparison. My other complaint is spa services. My friends told me I "must" have a Dr.s exam to take the mud treatments: so I had that done. Little did I know! and no where was it written that that cost euro 50! Yes the spa services are separate form the Hotel but you know what? they are operating in their building. So I hold them responsible for the level of experience there. The staff at the spa were very nice and helpful I will say. My husband had a totally mediocre 30 min massage and we complained, the next with 50 min with a better masseur and he liked that but we paid for both. I found the prices high compared to US standards and standards in other parts of Italy. I did a salt rub which was GREAT. (although I had to tell her to do my feet, the part that surely needs a serious scrub!) The rooms. Most of the ones I saw had new bathrooms that were really beautiful I have to say. Most rooms don't have great views being blocked by other buildings but we could see the sea. One of our party had a sad tiny single room. Often our bathroom linens? were not replaced. Overall the staff were nice. The place is yes, "old school" nice tile floors from the 50s, the clientele when we were there were mostly over 50. Germans and Italians. Next time I would try to find another hotel in this area but make sure the food was better IF I take pension at all.

We stayed for 2 nights in Ischia and stayed in La Reginella. We had two rooms, and one was supposedly a comfort room and cost €30 extra per night. There was nothing extra in that room or special about it! The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. However breakfast was disappointing and service very slow, which I presumed was because it was not the season. The thermal spa is fantastic and made up for the breakfast! And Ischia itself is a delight!

We were looking for a winter break with a good weather and a spa. We opted for Ischia and thanks to TA we chose La Reginella. The hotel is located at the heart of Lacco Ameno, a charming village at 6 km from Ischia Porto. Many shops are closed in winter here so a car is a good idea. The hotel claimed 5 stars in the past and you can feel these golden years in the common areas which are elegantly furnished. Also in the restaurant the service is very classy with silver covers, beautiful table set and a professional, elegantly groomed, friendly staff. The rooms (we booked a standard one) are simple but comfortable and very clean; there were works going on in a part of the hotel but the chambermaids did a good job. The park of the hotel is beautiful with 5 heated pools; in the park there is also an indoor heated salted pool. We were lucky enough to have an excellent weather. The park and pools were not at the highest levels of maintaining but it is true that the hotel in winter has true bargain rates. So you have to imagine that something is not in the summer standards. Anyway, it was a super deal and worked perfectly for us. 4 beautiful days! Hope to come back during summer or in spring when Ischia, named the "Green Island" must be beautiful.

We choose this hotel 2nd time because of the pools with hot volcanic water on the premises and good quality for the price. Room was pretty spacious(we choose comfort double room). There was no view at all, but for us it was ok as for us view is not the main reason to stay in this hotel.
There are few pools with different temperature right at the property which save you a lot of money as you don't have to go to the special parks daily and spend about €35 per person for a day.
Breakfast is really good - not a lot of variety, but good quality and very nice indoor and outdoor facility. We had dinner once but was not really impressed with it.
Overall it was very good deal for the price.

We stayed in this place at the beginning of july 2016. It's a well renowned place since its beginnings in mid 50's. The location is at the heart of Lacco Ameno, an exclusive little village of Ischia island. The pros of this hotel are: staff professionality, location, some benefits such as: daily change of bedsheets and towels, a bathrobe for thermalbaths, towels for swimming pool; free use of umbrella and chairs at a close beach. We had halfboard: The cuisine is typipical of a 4 star hotel with a huge salad bar and veggies, fried neapolitan plates as horse d'oevres, followed by a 2 choice selection of main course, pasta and dessert. Any Saturday night a typical neapolitan menù is served with a real mozzarella making show and neapolitan singers.
Cons: some plates are not fresh, especially croissant at breakfast, which is in antagonism with The high professionality of hotel. Some rooms are not of a 4 star hotel.
I highly recommended this hotel To people used To high standards, since prices are at the same standards !
Special mention To Mrs Anna at the reception: The perfect hostess, The one we Would find in Any hotel, and To The Maitre: The last remembrance of high class italian and neapolitan hospitality.
A place To return
