We went to downtown Harrisonburg while staying at massanutten because looked like a lot of restaurants...walked into another place with only one table...no place to sit so walked down street and found Billy Jacks. $2 slider day!!! We started with oysters that were great, then a bunch of sliders...all delicious. Finished with the muddy pig and psycho Girl Scout donuts for dessert. Lots of great local beers on tap. Went with husband and 2 early teen kids...all loved it.

This is a fun place to watch game, grab a beer (or a cocktail), and the food is very reasonable and well prepared. We look forward to returning when we visit our daughter at JMU.

Our server Taylor was really very nice. Very attentive even though it was a busy college crowd. The oysters were just OK - too much breading. You could not even taste the oysters. On the other hand, the burgers were great!

We were in the mountains to ski (didn't happen - no snow) we decided to venture out into some of the less touristy parts of the region (go to Bluestone and Cross Key Wineries!) we stumbled across Billy Jack's (how he got to Harrisonburg I'll never know) by accident. Started off expecting to eat at the Local Chop & Grill House but they were closed for two weeks (not a good idea)!!! Then we headed off to Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint (too small and too bar-like with only one table) which we skipped electing to walk next door to Billy Jack's... Best thing that ever could have happened to us! Its still a bar but they fully expect to serve lunch and dinner and they do it right!. We had burgers, chili, appetizers and shots and more shots and couldn't have been happier! Still a long bar but plenty of dining space all packed into a solid establishment with local craft beers and an excellent cook! If you are in the area kick it with Billy Jack!

Great place to eat! The sliders are amazing( try the Greg Brady, it will blow your mind). Wide election of bears to choose from and the donuts are a must!
