Great place to walk, float, swim, kayak. Peaceful and water is clean. There's a little beach you can walk to to access a sandy spot and put out a chair.

This lovely lake has been found by many people. That is why I recommend going during the week. We actually saw loons and a heron. We like to kayak along the shore line looking for wildlife. Parking is limited on the weekends but people tend to come and go. There are picnic tables in spots along the lake. The ranger monitors the cars and parking on the weekends to help make it more comfortable for all.

There is a walking trail that goes all around the lake. I like to do this in the fall.

We went to this location twice. Once on a cloudy Thursday, the next time a spectacular sunny following Friday. Difference and use of the lake was dramatic as one would expect and parking became difficult. That being said it is a lovely spot with wonderful trails and some picnic area secluded among some Pines. While the fishing wasn't good I hear there are fish in this shallow body of water and we enjoyed kayaking.

Must see across the walkway across the dam is a very old cemetery on the hillside.

You should go up there for just a few minutes and sit and relax.

A nice, free state park with a fairly easy trail. I would head out counter-clockwise from the parking lot if you think you won't go all the way around. Nice spot for a picnic and a very cool 200+ year old cemetery on the hill. Wear bug repellant!
