New but not outstanding

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Feb 2024via mobile
Pros: New construction, attractively appointed (light fixtures...), helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed & pillows, motion detection closet light, smart heat adjusts when the room is unoccupied, plenty of warm/hot water, suites have dishwasher, mid-size fridge, 4 burner stove, place setting for 4...The area feels safe and the parking lot is well lit and has adequate parking. There is a pool and laundry facilities. We saw other people using these facilities but we did not.

Cons: We had reservations weeks in advance and checked in at 4pm yet there were no non-handicap accessible rooms available. The tv wasn't working but on the positive it took just a few minutes for the front desk clerk to reset it (but with a new hotel this should not be a regular issue). The laminate flooring in our room was peeling up, baseboards in our bathroom were bubbled away from the wall, sloppy paint around trim and exposed flooring edges around doors (see attached photos). The water pressure in the shower was very weak in spite of the fact that the water flowed very strongly from the tub faucet. The couch in the room was the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on I'm hoping it's because it is higher and firmer than those in a standard room to make it more accessible for someone transferring from a wheel chair but I'm not informed on such things so I could be completely wrong on that.

Overall though the list of pros looks shorter than the list of cons our stay was pleasant. The comfort of the bed and pillows, room temperature control and helpful staff make this a place I would return to. The breakfast was below standard and left us disappointed. Our overall feeling is that this place is nice enough now but if the poor workmanship by the builders that is visible is any indication I wouldn't expect this to be a nice place for long. I truly hope that the owner(s) have some recourse with the builders.

This is very nice hotel. Full refer, dishwasher, 2 burner stove, couch, tray for eating in bed. Only neg was tv was small and bathroom counter was small. But, the kitchen counter and room counter was large. Closet had 2 entrances, one from bathroom, the other from entrance hall.. We have stayed at 2 Fairfield Inn's which are a step down. Free parking and breakfast.

Room tip: A short distance off the I-15, several turns to arrive. Next door to Courtyard

Second time here and this reservation was made at the very last minute because of road closure elsewhere -- so thank you so very, very much to Pam on the Front Desk for not only getting us in but also treating us like Marriott royalty. Breakfast was super: individual milk cartons (2% and fat-free), yogurts, breads, waffles that are so sinful they should be called donuts, delicious egg/sausage breakfast sandwiches and of course the 24/7 famous TownePlace coffee in the lobby even before the 6 a.m. start. Windows open for a breeze, the views are fantastic and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. The whole place is spotless and parking plentiful/secure. Do yourself a big Marriott favor and stay here. Maybe you'll even be greeted by wonderful Pam. Good show, GM Miguel!

I’ve stayed here twice before and had no issues. They were very comfortable stays. This time unfortunately was very different. Now, the staff were all incredibly friendly. Desk to housekeeping. And they were all helpful and kind. And the hotel location is nice and quiet yet convenient to St George. Pets were welcomed with a smile. But that’s where the good news ends.

For starters, for the duration of the stay the toilet did not work. It wouldn’t fill or flush. But it was one night, so we could make the hallway ones work. Oh wait! The hallway women’s bathroom wouldn’t flush either! Plumbing issues galore. The room was really tired. The couch had a massive hole in the cushion. The carpets were dirty, and the room didn’t even have facial tissues or paper towels. Thankfully the housekeeping team provided. And since we had arrived at 3am, we had a do not disturb sign hung on the door. No worries, the housekeeping team barged right in during breakfast! They were apologetic and left but maybe next time they could read the sign FIRST. The shower had great water pressure but never got truly hot.

The property has great potential and has starred in the past, it just needs some general updates and improvements now.

Parking was a breeze and the grounds were pretty. Nice views from the front overlooking the city! Located really close to restaurants and shopping (Target is close by, handy for toiletries the room didn’t have!).

As an ambassador elite, I am guaranteed 4 pm checkout but Sabrina at front desk argued about it. I had to waste 45 mins in calling Ambassador service so they can call front desk and educate her. Finally they did it. I went again to ask my keys to be changed to 4 pm and she did not even apologise for wasting my precious time.

This hotel feels brand new — because it’s so well-maintained and cheerfully staffed. Cody on the front desk perfectly time the readiness of our room to our arrival and it was most appreciated. There is a fitness room with free weights, machines, a stretching mat, scale and water dispenser. Ice machine on each floor, laundry room was clean and tidy. Breakfast has it all, from hot egg sandwiches to pastries, yogurts and individual milk cartons, along with apples and bananas. Start time is 6 a.m. each day which makes it nice for getting back on the road. Thank you also to GM Zack for the VIP treatment and our beautiful 2-Bedroom/1-Bath corner room with a fabulous view. Windows open in the bedrooms. Again, just spotless and clearly well attended by a dedicated housekeeping staff. We shall return!
