Everything was in the best order except for the bathroom. They should turn the curtain of material into a plastic curtain. In addition, they should replace old bathtubs with new ones. Besides, everything was OK.

We stayed in room 922. the noise from the nightclubs close by went on until 6am every morning. its is very difficult to sleep when the balcony window is vibrating. This hotel is not a 4 star as advertised, it should be downgraded to a 2 star plus. We visited in april and the place was full of stag parties who just get drunk from 10am until the all inclusive service ends, then they hit the clubs. Vomit in the lifts ect. the food is bland, cold and mostly inedible. We wil not be going here again. A one to miss.

Room tip: Rooms in tower B are the best option

We visited Sol Tenerife for a last minute break, and after reading some of the reviews here, we didn't have high hopes. We were pleasantly surprised though, and had a fabulous holiday! We are 2 female friends in our early 30s, and were looking for a bit of sunshine and relaxation. We paid about £450 each for a week all inclusive, including flights.

Food and drink - We ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel each day, and found that there was always plenty of choice. A decent salad bar, always a selection of 'specials' being cooked there and then by the chefs, and so on. Sometimes things were a little on the cold side, but all things considered, the food wasn't bad at all. We like to eat out for dinner, and visit a variety of local restaurants, so we never dined in the hotel in the evening. The drinks were good too - I loved the cava!

Rooms - We had a room in B block, which was definitely a good move. Block A is pretty much right on top of Veronica's strip, and apparently it gets very loud on a nighttime. It was clean and the maids did a great job every day. The only criticisms here would be that there was only 1 plug socket in the room, and we had just 1 very thin pillow each.

Staff - Always pleasant and efficient.

Pool area - There are 2 pools, and one is heated. Plenty of sun loungers kicking about the place, and there's a lovely view over the sea from the pool on the higher level. There was a variety of things going on if you wanted to get involved, such as aqua gym etc. We sometimes caught the tail end of the entertainment on an evening, and they usually had a DJ playing your typical kinds of holiday music.

Location - Right next to the beach, and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Very handy if you want to enjoy the nightlife.

There did seem to be a lot of hen and stag parties staying at the hotel, so probably not a great choice if you're travelling with children or you want a quiet romantic break, and there was the occasional noisy incident in the corridors around 4am. There was no bother really though.

If you fancy getting out and about, I'd highly recommend -

Las Salinas mojito bar - Leave the hotel by the poolside exit onto the beach, turn left, and keep walking for about 10-15 minutes. It's literally just a hut and it closes about 9.30pm, but the cocktails are amazing and they have various things going on like live music and yoga, if that floats your boat.

Oliver's With A Twist - Our favourite restaurant here. Great for foodies, cosy setting, brilliant service. Book in advance for a special treat!

Room tip: We were in block B looking out onto the sea, towards Los Cristianos direction, which is what we requested, and were well pleased with same. We would certainly recommend these rooms at this time of year.

My previous reviews on this hotel have all been near to excellent but I feel I should warn past guests that now the Sol has gone All Inclusive and that it is situated next to Veronicas and across from Linekers it has become the perfect place for young adults celebrating special occasions. I visited the swimming pools on 3 occasions during my stay and heard such obscene language and behaviour from these groups of young Brits I was ashamed of them. There were drinks scattered around the area hardly touched, empty glasses and even bottles and cans. It was unbelievable. I felt sorry for the staff as they couldn't cope especially on the Monday when an alcohol incited row broke out with security and management trying to calm things down. It continued in the reception area with around a dozen youngsters I just walked out. I am not a prude and have stayed in hotels where groups have been welcome and everyone has got on famously and would go back to them but as much as I love the Tenerife Sol I would think twice before booking in again. The only other negative comment I would like to make on this visit to the Hotel is food at Dinner was not up to the usual standard. Only one night out of four would get an excellent. All other aspects of the Hotel were as I expected and used to. Please read my other reviews and you will understand why I felt I had to write this one Mrs P
