My partner and I visited on the 28th June 2018 and we could not have fallen any more in love with this beautiful family restaurant. We are both well travelled and this place is a huge standout for us both, it’s an absolute must visit for any tourist in Rhodes if you have a car - there’s plenty of parking too.
We ordered Cheese Croquettes to share for a starter which we would highly recommend. We had 7 between us and they were a cheese-lovers dream. They tasted so light - even though they where two heavy ingredients, potato and cheese. The crust was thin and crispy and the presentation felt authentic and homely.
We then ordered two mains: Kapamas and Suckling Pig. Both dishes were slow-cooked in a brick oven and this was clear when we began to cut in to the meat.
Kapamas is essentially goat meat with rice and several other Greek flavours and it came in a large portion. It tasted traditional and the goat was so tender that our forks could barely hold it without it falling apart.
Suckling Pig is a slow-cooked pig thigh served with chips and rice. Again, the pig was cooked so well that it would tear apart with our forks - our knives were still clean at the end of the meal.
We left a fair amount of the meal as the portions were so generous but we decided we’d get a little dessert to share to end the meal. Before we could even order it, two slices of homemade cake came out along with two shot glasses of homemade strawberry liquor, followed by some watermelon. This seems to be in line with the reviews we had read before visiting and this is such a nice finishing touch.
The family are so lovely and welcoming, it felt like we were being allowed in to their home to experience a traditional Greek meal. This was a huge highlight from our holiday.
