Had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful hotel recently, whilst in Houston for business.

Sourced totally from reviews placed on TripAdvisor it certainly did not disappoint!

After a 24 hour journey from Australia, it was a pleasure to be welcomed to the hotel, firstly by the wonderful doormen (who do an outstanding job), followed by the friendly reception team, particularly Russell, how exceled during our 5 day stay.

Hotel is beautifully appointed, refined and really sits in its niche perfectly. Rooms are spacious for US standards, bathrooms in particular were of high standard.

Breakfast was plentiful in choice and everything needed prior to heading of to work.

Apart from the décor and general ambience of this little gem it's the staff that set's it apart and personalises your stay. From the GM (Tom, who makes a point of introducing himself to all guests) down, all are professional, friendly and intent on creating a truly wonderful stay. Truly reflecting a culture of customer care that reflects goal to charm each guest with their simple brand of elegance, whilst making them feel at home.

If you're in Houston for some reason (business would be the only one), DO NOT HESITATE, book in here and enjoy some genuine HOSPITALITY.

Opened after flood Reno’s, this place is SO much better than it was. This staff are amazing and the perks are great. Sad gym, they could easily fix with a bench and some dumbbells. And the beds could be better. But it still earned a score of five!

We appreciate your comments and feedback regarding our gym. As a boutique hotel we offer a cardio gym for our guests with state of the art cardio equipment. We also partner with a beautiful gym just 2 blocks from the hotel. Our guests love this option for lifting weights, classes, locker rooms, and traditional gym facilities.

Thank you for choosing our property and thank you for the 5 star review.

It is so great to have the Lancaster back in operation after extensive renovations (new owner and Hurricane Harvey). The Lancaster has always been a wonderful boutique hotel, but only now has it returned to the sophisticated elegance of the Carolyn Rose Hunt years. Once again, original art takes the stage, this time in a setting of subtle grays and whites. Beautiful! Service remains exceptional, and I was thrilled to see the doorman back, among others! Proximity to the downtown arts scene is unparalleled. Gratis snacks and beverages are appreciated! Breakfast buffet (also included, on the mezzanine) is excellent and the setting is gorgeous. Two thumbs up to the remodel, and extra kudos for going the extra mile with service!

I chose the Lancaster because of it's location. We were attending the Houston grand Opera and it is the closest Hotel. Our first impression that we had chosen our new favourite Hotel was being greeted at curbside by the hotel's valet. Matthew was gracious and personable. He made sure we were taken care of and directed us to reception. When we arrived at the reception desk Russell greeted us warmly and saw to our every need. Our room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. We decided to dine in the Hotel restaurant and were pleased with the quality of food and the attentive service. After a relaxing dinner we were off to the Opera. Upon returning to the Hotel we decided to relax at the bar for a drink. Bob was our barman, he was knowledgeable and quick with his service. Conversation at the bar was light and entertaining. We returned to our room after our drinks and enjoyed a quite night's sleep on a very comfortable bed. Sunday morning we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast which was very good. At check out we were greeted by Russell and Laura who took care of of bill and made our reservation for the following weekend. The Lancaster Hotel is a gem of a boutique hotel and a rare find. We look forward to many return visits.

Had an amazing stay at the newly renovated Lancaster Hotel. Can’t say enough about the staff — everyone, from housekeeping to management were so cheerful and helpful. Russel, the front desk manager, made us feel at home the minute we arrived. Helped us with our next reservation. Had dinner at the Cultivated F&B. Again incredible staff and service. Returned to the F&B for after opera drinks. Bar was packed, due to Game 4 of the World Series. However Bob, the bartender, kept up with everyone and found time to answer questions from the guests. The only glitch was with the breakfast buffet — room was excellent and as well as staff. Just wish the food in the chaffing dishes were hotter. Had to ask the staff for hotter water for tea. Overall, enjoyable. Looking forward to our next stay at the Lancaster
