We were there only for one night to have Christmas fun with our grandson! Our plans revolved mostly around spending time at the Discovery Green across the street, meeting family for dinner and chilling at the indoor pool.
First of all, we splurged on a room on the 19th Floor where the Executive Lounge is. Well worth it. Access to drinks (alcoholic extra), snacks, breakfast, etc and great view of downtown. Great place to hang out away from the busy lobby! Just wish it felt more Christmasy in there!
Rooms were not any more special...although there was a tiny fridge, convenient for leftovers.
Discovery Green had a lot of holiday activities going on so being able to walk across the street was really convenient. Parking was convenient too...and reasonable for the area.
We inquired too late to have the Breakfast with Santa, but we did catch him skating at Discovery Green! The large gingerbread house in the lobby area was good, although not as impressive as I imagined it would be. Just thought the place needed more holiday ooomph!
Having Pappasitos right at the hotel was convenient although the wait was tad long for a Saturday night. No worries, the bar/restaurant down the hall was happy to serve us some drinks while we waited.
Indoor pool and hot tub on the 24th floor were great for chilling with the grandson...great views too. There was a nice outside patio as well but it was a little cold for sitting out. DIdn't use the workout room, but that too had great views. A new rooftop Exec Lounge was still under construction.
My only complaint is that I was advised to check out in the lobby area as when I checked on my bill while still in the room, it appeared that parking was not properly charged and would have presented exit issues. The line was kinda long and added to our checkout time on a busy weekend.
Overall, a great stay...and a nice one day staycation. Would do it again!
