We visited Danton’s Friday night after our son played in a concert. Since we were so close to the gulf we wanted to try a seafood place that was not a chain. We were not disappointed. The place has an upscale, if slightly dated feel with wood paneling and comfy booths.
We started out with local beers. Our waiter was a real professional. He walked us through the menu and pointed out what was best and what was line-caught. He was attentive but not overbearing throughout the meal.
We shared the tasty crab “fingers” while we went over the menu. I had blackened red snapper which was fresh and perfectly cooked. My wife had fried stuffed shrimp which she shared and was really good. All entrees come with a choice of two sides. We split a dessert of ice cream rolled in pecans then dipped in chocolate. Simple but satisfying.
The restaurant has valet parking, but they charge $6 for it. Overall, a very pleasant evening.
