Stopped here for lunch. Warmly greeted and seated. The restaurant has an interesting décor, and we got a good table overlooking the Gulf and the Galveston Pleasure Pier.
We decided to start with a dozen raw oysters, and that's when the disappointment began. They were tiny! At $15+ for a dozen oysters in the heart of oyster season on the Galveston waterfront I expected medium to large oysters. They were flavorful, but about the size of a 50 cent piece. My wife had a shrimp cocktail for her main dish. The shrimp were nice sized and well cooked. I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo, which was mostly rice. There was some fish, chicken, and a few tiny shrimp, but no tasso or andouille that I could find, which the menu indicated.
Not sorry we went, but the experience was carried by the atmosphere and service. The food was ordinary.
