I’d give it a 3.5 if that option were available. Nicely set out and decorated. Fast service. Coffee was good and the piece of hedgehog and the gluten free protein slice were both lovely. A very sound little local cafe.

We ate here as visitors passing through, the southern style chicken burger and pulled pork burger with chips were up there with the best we have had, everything was fresh and the service was quite good, we didn’t wait long for our food and it was certainly delicious, nice find when just needing to grab some supplies from the supermarket

This is a big cafe, adjacent to a very busy supermarket. It has lots of menu options and all are pretty good. Some people like the pancakes, but I think they've been reheated and taste quite dry.

If you decide to go there make sure you let the staff know you're there. You might like to wave, jump up and down or do a hula dance. Otherwise you'll be sitting there a long time waiting for someone to come and offer you a menu. This is especially the case if you're on your own. We were going to get lunch today but after receiving a coffee, no one came over to take our order so we left.
The big, young man makes a good coffee but if you see anyone else operating the machine get out quick.

Used to visit quiet regularly with my elderly mother, but won't be anymore! Most of the staff are lovely but on Melb cup weekend, the extremely rude owner, Simon displayed an unacceptable attitude to me whilst I waited for our coffees. Very poor customer service and so rude; whilst given that they were busier than normal it was by no means the summer crowd, he is clearly not ready for the season and not setting a good example for his staff, whom I feel for. Keep an eye out and hope he's not the one to serve you!

On our travels to the Mornington Peninsula for a short stay holiday we dropped in for lunch at this Blackthorn cafe as it was conveniently located for supplies at the adjacent IGA.
Not as 'trendy' as the cafes on the highway it served a great meal in a very relaxed open area suitable for couples, families or groups - including a 'sun-lounge' with classic 'chesterfield' Sofa' & chairs
Although gluten free was not included on the menu, staff were knowledgable to provide advice
The all day breakfast dish of gf 'Eggs Beni' with pulled pork was particularly pleasant and the soup lentils, beans, zucchini, + , + (I assume all local ingredients as was available) was enjoyed by my partner
