The Blackthorn Cafe

Restaurant details

On our travels to the Mornington Peninsula for a short stay holiday we dropped in for lunch at this Blackthorn cafe as it was conveniently located for supplies at the adjacent IGA.
Not as 'trendy' as the cafes on the highway it served a great meal in a very relaxed open area suitable for couples, families or groups - including a 'sun-lounge' with classic 'chesterfield' Sofa' & chairs
Although gluten free was not included on the menu, staff were knowledgable to provide advice
The all day breakfast dish of gf 'Eggs Beni' with pulled pork was particularly pleasant and the soup lentils, beans, zucchini, + , + (I assume all local ingredients as was available) was enjoyed by my partner

We love this cafe and it has consistently great service, food and coffee. Also a great place to catch-up with friends.

I always go to Blackthorn for my chai latte! They use proper chai spices (not the powder crap) and you get approx 2 cup out of the pot. Yummy!!!!

We popped in for their Irish Stew advertised as we walked passed, it was reasonable for a cafe, also had their calamari which was good. Convenient being opposite the supermarket, coffee accepable, lots of treats to takeaway, we would go back.

If driving past worth stopping for a quick coffee. I've found it to be one of the best tasting coffees on the peninsula. You can actually taste the coffee and not just warm milk
