Owner description: Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

There isn't a lot to see here, but the tour is cool, and the spot is an historic to do. Stand where Elvis did & hold the mike he used. Avoid the gift $hop & get a picture outside instead!1

Our guide, although very young, was so enthusiastic about the music history depicted in this museum.. you get to stand in the very studio, complete with the original floor and ceiling tiles where Johnny Cash and Elvis and others recorde., you can hold Elvis' mike AND lay your hands on Jerry Lee Lewis' piano.

This is where it all started. It's great from a historic point of view. The tour guide was very enlightening.

Had a fun time seeing the museum and listening to the tour guide explain the history. You can have a snack and or drink before or after the tour if you like and souvenirs for purchase.

A small venue but packed with huge chunk of music history. Our tour guide was a mine of information and I came away with a real sense of how important this studio was in the early days of rock and roll. There is a small coffee shop/gift shop to while away the time if you have to wait for the next tour guide. Well worth a visit.
