I attended a wedding here. The venue is absolutely beautiful with stunning views. The staff were all fantastic and very professional. Food was great. Bar was very expensive. The wedding took place in the marquee on a very warm day and I have to say was almost unbearable as there is no air conditioning so felt like 100 degrees inside. This really let it down ☹️

Went over Bank Holiday Weekend for a wedding was in awe of the beautiful weather and views we had from the hotel and not far for Loch Lomond itself.
The hotel is steeped in history and so is laid out in a grand way that just makes the experience feel luxury. The hotel made the whole 4 days we were there very special not only for us but also the wedding couple, from the momment you check in to the point you check out. My only criticism is room was stifiling hot day and night with no air conditioning and 2 tiny small sash windows to open, after 2nd night had to ask for a fan even then it was still far too hot. The room was large with a high bed very comfortable and huge bathroom with bath / shower etc , due to the layout of the hotel we had to go up a number of steps, down a number of corridors, and through 5 fire doors to room with quite a bit of luggage can be daunting. I am sure you could have asked reception to get a porter with trolleys on wheels but only ever saw 1 trolley and always in use it seemed. Breakfast was well laid out and food good tasting with variety to suit everyone. The spa we never visited so no comment. Of course one of the biig things at the hotel is the golf so for those that do its 2 min away from hotel steps. Overall this hotel provides gandeur and opulence be hard to beat.

Room tip: Rooms are what you can afford choose well :)

Well what can I say but absolutely breathtaking scenery and magnificent place and the staff were so polite and warming definatley a place to stay at, We came to attend a wedding that was held here, The weather was amazing and Mar Hall grounds were just breathtaking just at the bottom of the golf course was the river Clyde which looked magnificent. We stayed in a lodge for over five families and.it also had a hot tub, ensuite in every bedroom, a kitchen and dining area and also a seating area with a tv it was very spacious and warming. Had all the mod cons cokker, fridge freezer, washing machine etc Would definatley recommend to stay here either in Mar Hall in one of the rooms or a self catering lodge you will not be let down in either. You could go for long strolls with the children in the woodland or just be comfortable sitting at the bar or restraunt having an amazing meal. Definatley a top notch place to stay worth the money and staff coudnt do enough for you so polite and professional.

Ok where do you start. Firstly the room was not cleaned or properly stocked on the three nights we stayed. Dirty glasses still left on the side. The bathroom had not been touched and water/products not replaced. I have had better service from a 3 star hotel. The restaurant, first evening I ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress returned saying they had ran out. Any 5 star hotel should know before serving anything of the menu to check what is available and update customers before ordering what they have or don't have on the day/evening. As for our dog, we had only been in the hotel before being told that ad there was a wedding on, he could not go outside to the rear of the garden and if anyone complained of being allergic including staff, we would be asked to leave the hotel and stay in our and around our room. This hotel is beautiful and only one or two staff we came across not so nice. To some it up. More training/checks on staff cleaning and please put signs up where animals can go or not go as very embarrassing when you get looks walking a dog around a hotel. Just a, this I a dog friendly bar or area. Please. We would go back just to see if changes put in place. 4 star for us.
