Just returned from a week away with my son, daughter, their partners and our grandchildren. We did our research and booked 2 good size, wide caravans. It’s a shame that Welcome did not spend some of the time during lockdown doing a few minor repairs. Our fridge was rusty at the bottom and the bedroom wall badly marked but in all the caravan was clean, tidy and had everything we needed.
The site is a good size for young families and near to the beach where there is a small fair and a selection of the usual seaside shops.
However, for us there was a couple of negatives. The children’s entertainment from 18:00- 20:00 was pretty poor and didn’t engage the kiddies attention- what happened to the traditional holiday songs that all children know - playing pop songs and talking incessantly into a microphone is a cop out.
Secondly after a day at the beach we all decided on a late takeway from the site. We waited for a while to be served, when a young girl did come to serve us we asked out of interest what the wait time was. To this she replied ‘ it’ll be ready when it’s ready’. Very poor attitude- I don’t think she really wanted to serve us so we decided not to bother. For info, this was on Monday just gone around 21:00.
Would we return. Not sure on that one……More
