Traditional hotel

Stayed here for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff are so nice and nothing is too much trouble. We had room 228 which was at the back of the hotel and looked into a back yard. It's not the best and was a wee bit small however it had a kettle, fridge, air con and iron/board. Outside the hotel at the front they have built a outside seating area with parasols which include heaters plus a bar. It's lovely to sit outside with some grape juice and watch the world go by. The indoor pool is immaculate as is the gym which was well equipped. Breakfast was also really enjoyable and included full English plus continental breakfasts. Lots of fruit and cereals are also available and to be honest if you can't find something to eat there you must be extremely fussy...Great location and a bus picks you up at the airport and drops you right outside the hotel.....definitely recommend this hotel

I note that one of our Small Classic Doubles was booked, these rooms are quite popular as they provide a good value option for guests who intend to be out exploring the island and not planning to spend too much time in the room. We have the average square metres for each room type listed on our website to help our guests better understand the size of room type being booked. You may prefer one of our Deluxe or Superior Rooms on your next visit if you require more space.

The team have worked really hard on improving our breakfast offering and to see your feedback will mean a lot to the team. We do share all feedback and I know they all will be thrilled to see your review.

Outstanding stay!

We have just checked out after a week long break at the hotel. The staff were absolutely fantastic ( particularly Anthony and Andrew!) and made sure we had a super stay. The breakfast was the best we’ve ever had with a great selection of cooked and cold foods. The view was spectacular overlooking Elizabeth Castle and St Aubins in the distance. We would thoroughly recommend and hope to return again. A huge thank you to all the staff at The Grand!

Wonderful Stay

We stayed here for our recent holiday. This was a lovely hotel and we enjoyed it very much. We were in a seaview room and although small, was absolutely fine for a week. The window frame had seen better days and hopefully will have a refit soon. Loved the bathroom. It did have a bulb out over the shower that we told Reception about it but it was never replaced. But hey, we managed. Great tea and coffee facilities. The lack of a dressing table mirror was an issue but I soon found one in the wardrobe.
The housekeeping staff are very helpful and solved an issue that I had immediately. Breakfast was excellent and the staff are very attentive. There is a great selection of food and people were generally covid safe apart from one or two who didn't use the tongs provided.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Would recommend

A fantastic stay, felt very clean and secure.
All staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast, spa and cocktails were the highlights for our teens, sundowners on the terrace were ours.
Lots of good restaurants within walking distance.
Would definitely book again.

Room tip: We had see view rooms, there was a little traffic noise, nothing that couldn’t be overcome. Parking is limited at the hotel.

Not 5*

The hotel, in my opinion, does not warrant a 5 star. The pool area was dark hot and not a family friendly pleasant experience, down and up some stairs around a corner, was a mission to get there. The hotel had no wow factor, walk into the entrance and reception is hard to spot behind a bollard. The breakfast room was nice, food was good and plentiful. We had room service and it was delicious.
The room 201, was nice and big, but for a 5 star wasn't impressive. There were no plugs by the side of the bed to charge phones etc. The bathroom was a terrible design, you were sat hugging the sink when you were on the toilet. The shower was awkward and the whole room just tight and unforgiving. The beds gave me a bad back, although massive, dipped and then hard, very odd. Useless coffee table, needed a dressing table with a mirror. Real lack of plugs sockets ended up drying my hair in the hall with the cupboard door open.
View was amazing, but busy road meant couldn't open windows. Would i return, not to this hotel unless there was no other choice.
