Great KOA staff! We were fortunate enough to get the largest tent site, farthest from the road. It was surrounded by beautiful trees and peacefully quiet. Even though the campground was full, everyone was respectful of each other and very polite. Although the pool needs a facelift, it was still fun playing pool basketball and relaxing in the spa. The unisex bathroom/showers were nicely updated (sinks look like mining gold pans!), however, they were poorly ventilated so it was pretty hot/humid every time we used them.
There was a trolley available to take into Deadwood which was only $1.00 per person. It was worth every penny because there was no parking in town (Sturgis biker rally going on).

A lovely place but we have a 27" RV and could barely fit into site. Had to back into trees. The sites are minimal and people arrive very late. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday, the first night people arrived at 10:45pm next to us and finished set up about an hour later. Saturday night people arrived on the other side of us at 11:25pm and it took until 1am for them to finish setting up and get into their trailer. Not good sleeping. Very nice pool and the hosts are great and helpful.

Pros: Close to downtown Deadwood, a shuttle to town for activities, a nice pool, spacious cabins with tv and clean bathrooms.
Cons: RV spaces are super-duper tight, rowdy campers are allowed to party until the wee hours with no consequence, the dog run is small, no campfires.
Overall: Great place to stay in a cabin but not in a travel trailer or RV.

Deadwood has to be one of the neatest town with the wild west history (Wild Bill Hickcock was killed here). This campground is about a 5 minute drive to town. There is little parking in town and a bus runs right through this campground to pick up and drop off people so you don't have to take your car to town and find a sought after parking spot and pay high parking fees. The bus is $1.00 each way. The washrooms are clean and they have large sites for large RV's (40 footers). some pull through and others back in.

Room Tip: There are not many RV parks in this area so book as soon as you know to get a spot as this is not a large RV park.

The reservation process was easy and we were greeted on arrival by a friendly staff member. We wanted more nights, but could only get one. The site was excellent and though they are all narrow, it was level and easy to get into. Excellent view of mountains from our lawn chairs. The trolley into town is a great asset and we will stay here again.

Room Tip: This is a Campground.
