Owner description: The only museum in the world with a bar. Live Poker, Single Deck Black Jack, loose slot machines, all your favorite spirits, and live music every weekend. Come party where Wild Bill Hickok bit the dust!

Wild Bill was holding a Full House of Aces and Eights when he was shot from behind. He ALWAYS sat facing the saloon doors, but this time had his back to it. A neat atmosphere and a part of western history.....

Firstly, this is the "new" Saloon #10 - not to be confused with the original Saloon #10 where Wild Bill Hickok was shot. But it sure looks like it could have been the spot.
Employees in character for an old western saloon (see pic). Lots of old period furnishings to fit the part as well, with a card show held several times a day (we missed this because we had to meet our tour bus).
Gambling with slots and a few tables for blackjack and other games. My wife won $35 on the slots during our visit.
Stayed for lunch just because we were there. That was disappointing. Very limited menu and nothing impressive. Think we had fish tacos (cold) and some kind of burrito which was also a cold meal. Recomendation: Go there for a drink at the bar and skip lunch.

Thank you for your review. I am very sorry that you thought this location was the "new" location. The original Saloon #10 was burnt down in 1876, the entire town of Deadwood was engulfed in this fire. After the fire they moved Main St. away from the hillside because of all the mudslides. They believe the original location was down the street in the alley.
After the fire, the Saloon #10 was never re-built until 1938 when Stu Donavitz decided to replicate what the original saloon looked like. We have lovingly kept the history of Deadwood and the legacy of Wild Bill alive for Deadwood 79 years.
I hope this cleared up any confusion.
I am also sorry for your dining experience. It will be addressed and we will continue to work with staff to make sure our guests have the best experience possible. We hope to see you again in the future and wish you the very best.

Stopped in for a pint or 2 while walking around Deadwood. Staff was very friendly and enjoyed the conversations. They have a great whiskey selection. FYI - this is not the original Saloon #10 where Wild Bill Hickok was murdered. That is located down the block.

Been coming here for many years. The "American Whiskey Bar" tag is only a few years old, but it was great even before that. Glad to see the wide whiskey selection. Always fun on the bar side, been there on some very fun band nights. Gaming tables in the back have dealers that are friendly and helpful - When I first started coming here, I knew next to nothing about gambling... they are helpful - informative too. they want you to enjoy the experience, whether you win or lose, you leave in a good mood (winning DOES help the mood)

Decided to go watch the free reenactment and we decided it was one of our very favorite things in Deadwood! The actors were great with the audience and were very knowledgeable. Highly recommend for all ages!!
