We ended up in Deadwood longer than anticipated due to projected 10" of snow, which interrupted some of our travel plans. The hotel upgraded us to a beautiful suite (Room 407 is gorgeous) with a fireplace and balcony. The staff was courteous and helpful. The pit boss in the casino as beyond helpful. As we were visiting off season, there were not as many dealers as I would have liked; however, there weren't many people gambling so it was understandable.

Room Tip: Ask for a view/balcony - you won't be disappointed.

We booked a weekend in the hotel. We stay in Deadwood frequently but this was our first time choosing the Grand. We paid $300/night for the room onto to have a disgusting moldy shower. I would have requested another room but the hotel was booked solid for a wedding. Worse than the shower was the attitude of Jane at the front desk when I reported the mold to her. “Oh yeah, they’re getting around to replacing (the caulking)”. When I mentioned that I felt $300/night was a bit high to deal with mold she ignored me except to say that she would add it to the repair list. Overall her customer skills were sadly lacking and it ruined our thoughts of staying there again.

We are terribly sorry you had a poor experience during your recent stay. We will certainly visit with staff about the issues you described so we do not have anything like this happen in the future. We apologize again and sincerely hope you'll give us another chance in the future.

We really enjoyed out stay here. We were traveling with our dog and they gave us a great room with a location so we could walk her. They even had a welcome package for our dog! The place & people are amazing! We had a great time and highly recommend this hotel!

We were in Deadwood for a wedding, and stayed two days at the Mountain Grand. Our room was quiet and clean, the bathroom was spacious and the amenities were great! The hotel is somewhat confusing to get to the first try, but once you know the route, it is no problem. I loved reading the information on the renovation of the old Slime factory - how beautiful it turned out! If we find ourselves in Deadwood again, we will definitely stay at the Mountain Grand again!!

We enjoyed our stay at this property! Beautiful location, quiet room, GREAT staff, clean room, lovely outdoor spaces to enjoy and the convenience of the location all made it an excellent stay. It is a bit expensive, so one couldn't stay often, but it is worth saving up for.
