The food is traditional szechuan and tastes delicious. However, the environment is nothing especial:very simple and kind of old. The waiters are nice, but service can be slow on weekends.

Visited for lunch, traveling from the North Hills of the ‘Burgh. Just a few english-speaking customers, so this was a good sign. Place was simply decorated and a bit warn, but don’t let that sway your decision. Menus are extensive - for the novice Chinese restaurant-goer, you will find your traditional items. We ordered two appetizers - spicy beef and dan dan noodles. Both did not disappoint. The bok choy was outstanding - making me think I should have ordered a main that included this. I had the scallop, beef and vegetable dish (more traditional) and my hubby had the chicken in a sizzling pot. Presentation was fun, and his meal stayed hot too! Very nicely spiced, but he left the peppers in the pot. Definitely worth a return trip!!! (Looks like they do an extensive take out business)

I visit China regularly for work and I am sure this is the best Chinese food I have had outside Asia. We had the Sichuan dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, Shredded spicy beef and spicy fish fillet in a flaming pan. All had excellent flavor with a real Sichuan kick but did not have an overwhelmingly fiery level of heat, so we were still able to appreciate the other spices. The decor resembles a Chinese canteen but service was friendly and efficient. They do BYO with no corkage and the bill for two people was $40 plus tax.

Ive been reading about this place for awhile and decided to try on a nice snowy day in PIttsburgh.....i will just start by saying this is the most amazing Chinese food ive ever had, i cant describe it ...the dumplings in chili oil were mouth watering , the sliced beef dish we got and the chengdu kung pao chicken were absolutely out of this world...the beef had a spice on it that litterally numbed your toungue, but oddly wasnt too spicy, it was one the best dishes ive ever had anywhere....you have to order off the non americanized menu as they make both the traditional dishes (general tso chicken and egg rolls etc) as well as a authentic chinese menu that has a menu w pictures thats very helpful....i cannot wait to go back...and dinner for two with 2 appetizers was only $42, a true bargain for this one of kind food

What can I say? I am impressed! This place is pretty authentic! There is an American menu where you can get your lobster sauce or you can get the real Chinese menu. Be brave and get the Chinese menu! The braised pork shoulder is delicious! The bubble tea I do not recommend. The spicy dishes aren’t horribly spicy, just enough! Parking is street only and very limited so get there with enough time to find a spot. While the place has a ramp for wheelchairs, it is a tight fit through the doorway. The place does not serve alcohol, but it is BYOB. If you forget, there is a bar next door that I am sure you can buy some to go.
