The starters of cuttlefish were disappointing (burnt garlic leant a bitter taste to the whole dish, not helped by the use of dried herbs). However the seafood and white bean stew was delicious. I wish I’d forgone the starter and left more room for the main!

Waitress was very friendly, overall it was a pleasant meal, but rather expensive hence the three stars.

A smallish place so advisable to book ahead. Chef is a character and delivers great tasting food. The ambiance is warm and you could believe that you are dining in Portugal. The house wines served were very acceptable. We found the menus and specials of the day made it hard to choose, but, when we settled on our decisions, we were not disappointed. The local octopus (starter) and fish casserole were stunning

This was our second visit to this restaurant. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere with lovely views of Mevagissey harbour. The octopus salad and the chorizo and black pudding starters were outstanding. The scallops were also perfectly cooked and delicious. For mains, we ordered the piri chicken which was beautiful. We also had the swordfish kebab special which was presented on a large hanging skewer with generous amounts of fish and vegetables. The presentation of this dish was a work of art. There is a good choice of drinks including a carafe of wine if you don't want a full bottle. The owners are genuinely nice friendly people and clearly passionate about great food. We highly recommend this restaurant for delicious Portugese food in a beautiful location. Be sure to book a table as it is so popular.

Winner Winner Chicken(or most likely fish) Dinner
Met some friends here and booked a table for 5 at this little restaurant on the harbour at Mevagissey.

Some great fresh choices on blackboards supplemented by a short simple written menu
If you like fish & seafood you’re in luck here . . . Freshly caught local specials for our visit included gurnard, mussels, scallops, bass cod and sole.

Mussels with Chorizo as a starter was my choice and superb.
Other starters we tried were
Broad beans with bacon and garlic.
Scallops - fresh plump and with corals on for a nice change
Octopus with a hint of chilli and garlic

Main courses were equally good
Cod, baked with leeks and tomatoes and served with roasted new potatoes.
Kebabs of swordfish with prawns with home cooked fries and salad
Baked gurnard with garlic potatoes
Prawns, shell on with a mild piri-piri sauce, rice and salad

Deserts weren’t needed for most of us . . . Filled to the gills after the generous portions, but those that did had good choices and waxed lyrical.

The best restaurant we visited on our stay in Mevagissey bar none - if you like seafood, it’s a must visit . . . But book ahead, it houses only 4-5 tables and is one you’d regret missing out on.
