Balance of flavours, textures and colour can be found here, At dinner the venison was pepared to the highest standard and the starter and the sweet excelled. Sunday Lubch provided the softest and tastiest Beef I have ever had. There is a good choice on both menus, and a good selection of wines. Relaxing and served with precision.

This was our second visit to Langley Castle, this time to celebrate our friends' wedding anniversary.

As usual pre-dinner drinks (rhubarb gin cocktail highly recommended) were followed by dinner. Now what can I say! Scallops cooked to perfection, a great Veloute, seared Mackerel, then Fillet Steak and Chateaubriand superbly prepared and mouth-watering Hake, followed by puddings to die for. Drinks and coffee upstairs to round off the perfect evening. As usual the wine list has an excellent selection to complement your meal.

Hate to mention money but a total bill of £330 for four people who left absolutely stuffed is the bargain of the century. It is fine dining at a mid range price.

Where Langley Castle scores highest is attentive, friendly and quietly understated service. These are really nice people who make it more than just another restaurant, Can't wait for our next visit in June.

It has always been a treat for us to have dinner at Langley Castle. As usual the staff could not do more for us, they were very attentive and friendly but unfortunately this time the quality of the food did not live up to the high standards we have become to expect at Langley Castle. I had a steak which was quite tasteless and dry. This restaurant is too expensive to serve food of the quality we received.

If you are staying in the castle, you first go to sit in the fabulous drawing room and look at the menus and have snacks and drinks. After they take your order, you can sit and enjoy the coziness of the room and the fireplace before being lead downstairs to the dining room. There was a good variety of entrees, everything from burgers to mushrooms and egg on toast to chicken Caesar salad. The wait staff were very pleasant and the atmosphere is just wonderful.
For breakfast in the morning, there is a buffet of cereals, fruits and meats and you can order cooked food off the menu. Once again, a lovely experience in the daylight and very tasty food.

I believe the restaurant at Langley Castle is called the Josephine Restaurant, named after the wife of one of the 'saviours' of the ruined castle. Dining was excellent. A superb a la carte menu or taster menu. Great choices. Superb wine list. Excellent service. Thank you all.
