I was traveling with my son to Portland and booked a room through Choice Hotels. Quality Inn was the "lucky draw". I couldn't make it to Portland, but my son did. I called Choice Hotels to inform them that my son will be checking in. They told me they'll make a note of that and inform Quality Inn. I called Quality Inn, as well, but they declined my request. I went back and called Choice Hotels; they contacted Quality Inn. The management of Quality Inn's reservation denial was because: First, the last name of my son doesn't match my last name (we are in 21st century and we encounter such mentality!) Second, I made the reservation with my Choice Hotels Points (little they know that those points don't come for free. They were a conversion of timeshare points, which I paid quite a sum for that!) And, on top of all that, they considered my reservation a No-Show - hence, I lost all the used points - despite the fact that my son showed up on time! To add to the quality of the "Quality Inn": my son was very happy not to stay there, as he described it as "a sort of a dealers' den"!
