I know you can find more luxurious locations, more amenities. But where else has been mentioned in a Bon Iver song? Where else can you take a bath in a claw-foot tub while listening to their Lauren Hill albums on vinyl? Where else can you get Stumptown onsite and eat it on your army blanket bedspread? Ace Hotel is just cool!
The location is also perfect and just ideal. Steps away from Powell's, has Clyde Common onsite. Wonderful stay.

Had a really nice stay here. People are kind, the hotel is well kept, room was nice, and location was great. I would stay here again if I return to Portland. The restaurant and coffee shops attached were both top-notch as well.

Surrounded by cool shops and restaurants, Ace Portland is definitely the better choice to stay in town. Rooms are well designed and large for its class. There is a coffee shop and a restaurant on the ground floor, and a cool quiet hang out space just above the reception......very nice.

Spent the weekend here and loved it. Great selection of old vinyl in the room which was fun. The location is ideal - tons of great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Complimentary bikes for longer jaunts. And what every hotel room needs. - a super comfy bed.

Really enjoyable stay. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Hotel is attached to coffee shop and restaurant/bar. Sofa's in communal area always had people about, which makes place very welcoming. The room decor tries a little too hard to be hip (decor, low bed, fixtures) but room was big, clean and came with a robe. Couldn't ask for more and would stay here again if visiting Portland.

Firstly this hotel is way cool. Set in an historic building the finishings and furnishings are just exquisite. So incredibly stylish. Rooms are a little small but had everything you need. Location is great too. I could see Powell's Books from my room. Plus Stumptown coffee is basically part of the hotel.
