I had to travel during the pandemic and needed to stay an extended length of time from just after Thanksgiving until almost the end of January. I couldn't be luckier than finding myself put up at the Hotel Lucia.
From the moment I checked in, through my entire stay the staff at the hotel was extraordinary. Everybody, greeted me by name and courteously. I was on an extended stay calm had a fantastically a portion room, and on the second part of my stay I asked about getting a microwave in my room, they delivered one promptly end it was able to not have to order every single meal of my stay from a delivery service.
Matt, the manager was one of the most attentive managers of a hotel that I've ever seen, extending personal service and help throughout my long stay.
Early on in my stay, Jill at the front desk took the time to give me many excellent recommendations to find great coffee and breakfast in Portland, a town that I was not familiar with when I first arrived.
With the whole town closed, I needed to order in food on many occasions- Since there was nowhere to go out to eat ever, Henry and Brandon along with other staff quickly and graciously made sure that my food arrived on time from the deliveries, with napkins utensils and service trays to make my dining in experience work.
Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and I had many opportunities to chat with people, and not just on a service level, learned that Jim the overnight clerk and I had a common background and we discussed our a commonality.
Also whenever I came to the hotel the other front desk people, Taylor, Quentin, and Damien recognized me and greeted my and assisted my with all My requests.
Since my stay was during Covid times, and I was there for a long time, I did not do much in changing of my room every day, however, when I will be stepping out for a while and I would call down the housekeeping department- Tosha, Nidhal and. Isabel- always quickly made up my room and refreshed it, and I never worried once about leaving all my items in that room. My personal items and privacy were always honored and respected at the hotel.
I stayed in many places and had many fine hotels, but I can honestly stay, that this was probably the best overall Hotel Experience I have ever had. I can honestly say I was a little sad leaving the hotel to head home. I did not feel like a customer- but truly felt like a guest, and felt I made some fantastic real connections with the staff.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone I knew going to Portland and I look forward to visiting again- especially when things open up again and I can explore more of Portland's nightlife and activities.
