Falsely advertised, poorly priced, and politics in a corporate hotel?
First of all, this was one of the most expensive options near PDX but it advertised a pool, which made it seem worth the extra money. There isn’t a pool.
Breakfast service closed early, there was no hot water, the windows so thin that I woke at least a dozen times as planes passed, the bed was saggy in the middle, the sheets were rough, and so on. I am floored by the price of this place given the major lack in value.
On top of all the above, the place is clearly right-wing conservative. Upon entry there is a ridiculous sign that says Oregon’s governor Kate Brown is forcing people to wear masks. Then Fox News has been on the large screen tv all 5 times I’ve been to the lobby. A hotel is no place for blatant politicizing, especially when we go there as a place of refuge - I would have been equally beefed if the absurd signage were on the opposite end of the political spectrum.
Overall, this was nearly a comical experience. And it wasted enough of my money and I lost enough sleep that I’ll complain to corporate too.
The only upside is that it seemed reasonably clean. But so is Motel 6.
You’ve been warned.
