Although the room was fine, the staff was not trained well and I had a very bad experience. After getting off a 6 hour flight and arrive at the hotel at 11pm on the shuttle. I was told that I should book another hotel because there systems were down and they did not know which rooms they could put people in. I was not given any help in finding a hotel and when I asked how I would get to the a new hotel, they said i should call myself an uber. I said that I would prefer to just stay in the hotel I had booked since i had never been to portland and it was 11pm at night. I waited an hour and they eventually found a free hotel room. At check out the next day they charged me a much higher rate than my reservation. So they finally went back and refunded me the difference. 3 weeks later I looked at my credit card statement and they had charged me a no show charge for the hotel room in addition to my stay. So once again I had to call and get them to fix it. All this time every time I mentioned my experience to hotel management, I was never given an apology for my experience. I was consistently told that the staff just needs more training. ?!?!? Yes, they do and perhaps better leadership. My advice is to book one of the several other hotels near the airport. The next day in the sunlight I figured out there are several better options. I would skip this hotel for the next year to two until they are actually able to train their staff.
