Fun visit!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Apr 2024
Great overall experience! Hotel was surprisingly quiet, so I slept 16 hours straight. (That may be a travel first for me). Staff was friendly and helpful, making several suggestions of things to see and do. I missed the Portland Ghost Tour, so now I HAVE to come back.
Date of stay: April 2024
Room Tip: Staff is super-helpful, so ask for suggestions on things to do and where to eat.

This place is definitely my jam so maybe a little biased. We took Amtrak from Vancouver and the Harlow is a 3 minute walk from the train station( which is also totally charming). This place is female run-the staff islovely. The rooms are small-high ceilings, super bed, and so quiet. The common area is huge and we had morning g coffee in there
-it is decorated with art from the art school across the street ( the art is for sale). Very clean .very walkable to great restaurants and shops.

The Harlow Hotel is a hidden jewel in the Pearl District in downtown Portland. It's about a 3-5 min walk from the Max and Union Station. It's also at 8th street which has park like area all the way down the street. It's a nice area to walk. The hotel is so cute and quaint inside! I love the decor and the feel of this cute boutique hotel, plus the staff was so friendly and willing to help and get you anything you need, they definitely went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and catered to. They also keep the hotel secure, which is a great added addition in Portland. Will definitely be back to this awesome hotel if I come back to Portland.

Room tip: I hope your experience is as great as ours was!

The room was clean & customer service was exceptional! Every time I needed something they were able to give it to me. The food and drinks tasted really good. The hotel was close to many areas such as the Amtrak station and nightlife.

My wife and I got married a few blocks away and our venue didn't have a location to get ready, so we were looking for a hotel close-by that could serve that purpose. Harlow Hotel popped up when I was searching, since it looked like the rooms had good natural light for hair and make-up and the art deco aesthetic matched the theme of our wedding. We are SO glad we found this spot, they added so much joy to our wedding weekend and we cannot recommend them enough!

We booked the two executive suites as our getting ready space and set up a hotel block for our guests, then their team mentioned that they had a space where we could host a rehearsal dinner if needed. We decided to go that route since we were getting ready there anyways, but Noemi and Armando went above and beyond to make the whole weekend special. We were able to arrange custom cocktails for our party, created by one of the hotel bartenders (I don't remember her name but we're so grateful to her). Each of our guests staying at the Harlow got a little menu with those custom cocktails, such a cute touch and a fun keepsake from the wedding. Our guests all commented on how lovely the whole team was, they worked their tails off and did it with a smile! A very sweet and genuine crew and we absolutely adore them. The hotel also had their back patio decorated and available to us (it wasn't available when we first looked at the hotel), and it was so beautiful that we decided to do our first look out there. When we left at the end of the weekend, Noemi gifted us a Christmas ornament on behalf of the Harlow to commemorate the event.

I don't think I even scratched the surface of everything they did for us but suffice it to say they far exceeded our expectations. Planning a wedding is stressful but they made things as fun as possible, while offering creative touches that we never would have thought of! We would highly recommend them as an event space, a place to get ready for your wedding, or just a spot to stay downtown. Such a lovely little slice of Portland and we're so happy we found the Harlow Hotel!

The staff was great! Front staff were so helpful and accommodating. House keeping does an excellent job. Everything was immaculate. The water bottles in the room are complimentary. A elegant northwest historical hotel with modern amenities. Staff is bilingual which very helpful. I felt so comfortable relaxing in the lounge. I melted in the chairs because they were so comfortable. Relax and order evening cocktail and there’s plenty of room to dance the night away. The only thing I would adjust would be to add colored lighting in the evening/nights so when you’re in the lounge you’re not on display to the people outside at night.

Room tip: Centrally located. Short walk to many Portland attractions.
