Great location—great hotel in the Pearl

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 1 May 2024via mobile
The Hampton Inn in the Pearl district provided us with a comfortable stay. The hotel was ultra clean, the bed was comfortable, the room was well maintained, and the hotel went the extra mile to provide an appropriate level of security. We used to stay downtown Portland but we have found that this Hampton Inn is better located for shopping, dining, and outstanding cocktail lounges within walking distance. The hot breakfast was adequate and the coffee is very good and always available in the lobby. For a corporate hotel it has a welcoming and personal feel.

This is a lovely hotel in a good area, modern and comfortable with very good amenities - big swimming pool that looked great for kids, good bar/restaurant, lovely roof top terrace, ample breakfast. Big shout out to Jake at the front desk, who was welcoming and so helpful with tips on where to go (and not to go!) in the city and surrounding areas - a real credit to the hotel.

Room tip: Avoid the area from Chinatown to the waterfront, v sketchy. Around the Pearl District and Pioneer Square is lovely. Definitely get the bus out to the Multnomah Falls.

The service was outstanding, ranging from the receptionists, valet, housekeepers and manager. The location is PERFECT. Safe and close to nice restaurants. The breakfast was great and the place is really CLEAN. Will stay here every time I am in town with business.

The hotel and staff are nice. However,
we left at 4:30 am and of course, breakfast was not available. I highly recommend they offer a sack breakfast for guests leaving early. A banana and granola would be nice. I was feeling nauseas and asked if I could have a banana. I was told no and had to buy a small bag of trail mix for $4. Customer service goes a long way!

The staff was Amazing! I couldn't have asked for a more caring, compassionate, understanding group. They made us all feel welcome and helped alleviate some of my stress during a family chrisis time.

The rooms were great! The rates were better than we expected! The restaurant next to it was also Great food, Amazing customer service!

My 6yo girl and I (mom) chose this hotel for our girls weekend and due to its walking distance to all the PDX things (Keller auditorium, amazing restaurants and cafes, stores, etc).

This was the best stay I’ve had at a hotel for the following reasons:
- They give the people what they want! Checkout at noon and long open hours at the pool (5am-11pm)! This is unheard of anymore 👏🏻
- They check in on you to make sure you’re a happy guest every day, instead of hiding from you.
- The staff seem to all get along and enjoy themselves, from the restaurant to the front desk - just good vibes all around.
- Cool and fun waffle makers at the free breakfast, I took down the brand so I could buy one when we get home 😂
- If you fancy, they have a 24hr fan that you can have going in the room (nice, not aggressive) to drown out city noise…but it’s already so quiet. I sleep with a fan so I was stoked.
- They nickel and dime nothing 👍🏻 we needed toothpaste and they handed us three packs for free.

Just a generous, down-homey place with fancy flare. I will 10/10 stay here on our next trip to PDX. Cheers 🥂
