During a recent trip to the Oregon coast, we decided to stay in Portland for a couple of days at the end of our trip. Trying to find a hotel in the Portland area as a last minute idea proved to be tricky. Hotels in Portland are ridiculously expensive or in places you wouldn't want to take your family too.
The Eastside Lodge actually presented a budget friendly stay, in a decent location, that ended up being so convenient that we couldn't have picked better had we been trying.
The rooms were quite a bit larger than I was expecting, and the were very clean and comfortable. I quite enjoyed the front desk staff as well. Friendly and quick with the jokes which made the little ones laugh.
The location is perfect. There are quite a few places to eat around the hotel. There is a bridge that takes you right into downtown just a couple of blocks away. The Tilikum Crossing Bridge and the Children's Museum are about a mile away. The Moda Center is also really close.
The only real complaint that I have is the parking. There are very few parking spots in the lot so anybody coming back late will very likely have to find a place to park off-site.More
