Room was tiny and bed was not great, no room to walk around. Ice machine was broken and grounds were a weedy mess. Thank goodness it didn’t have carpet. 25 dollars for a small pet was a laugh. I don’t mind paying but this was a joke considering the room. Managers well they should help with grounds. Hood River isn’t worth the money. We spoke with another couple and they said they felt it was a bad value
Simple rooms that are clean, comfortable and recently renovated. Very friendly staff. Very good location close to downtown. Due to older building style, there are no elevators; not a complaint, just a heads up. Definitely good value for money. If my family returns to Hood River, we would stay there again.
Very disappointed. The room was clean and nicely decorated but there were so many things wrong or missing that the trip was a bit uncomfortable. No facial tissues in the box in the bathroom, 1/2 roll toilet tissue with no extra, only one face cloth (there were two of us registered), horribly lumpy pillows (3 on bed and no spares) and worst of all, the refrigerator wasn't cooling at all. We called for TP and they brought over a roll but said they could "do nothing about the refrigerator." Of course we found that out after returning from a nice meal with leftovers we wanted to take home the next day. There were at least 4 other facilities that night with prices within $10 of Sunset. We'll try one of them next time.
We had an amazing stay at the Sunset Motel at a great, affordable price. We arrived early, way before check-in, and the person working there gave us great tips on what to do for the day and also let us leave our car in their parking lot, which was quite safe. Egg River is a great spot for brunch down the street, and the cute city center is a pleasant walk away as well. For any last minute needs, Safeway, a liquor store, a McDonalds and more are right across from the motel. There was a fridge and microwave in our room, which is more than some hotels in Portland can say. We awoke to a wonderfully quiet morning. I would highly recommend!
Stayed here on our way to backpacking trip in Olympic Park. No disappointments. Small hotel, nice spacious room, has the amenities (in-room coffee, microwave, fridge, shampoo etc). No breakfast but we wanted to do that as break further down the road so ok with us.
