Stayed one night to attend a work colleague’s wedding nearby. We were a group of 4 and booked 3 rooms between us, staying on a Monday evening.

We arrived around 5 pm. The staff on reception were less than friendly. The lady who checked us in clearly hated her job.

The property itself is run down and could definitely do with being refurbished soon. The carpet on the stairwell to the first floor was probably last hoovered about 2 years ago based on the amount of dust.

To access our rooms we were given actual keys with an attached magnetic fob - unusual in an age of easy to carry magnetic swipe cards.

The room itself (a double at £50/night) was small, but seemed clean. No frills; none were expected. Good hanging space for clothes. Water pressure on shower was like a watering can. Kettle was covered in scale and still had water in it. No safe for valuables (that I could find). Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet despite being right on a motorway.

There was no breakfast as far as I’m aware - only a vending machine at the entrance. If there was, we certainly weren’t made aware by staff at check in. Not a problem though as motorway services Costa/M&S/Greggs/Burger King/WHSmith were less than 50 metres away.

Stayed at this property out of necessity, probably wouldn’t go back there.

My partner and I stay here regularly to break up our journey from the Midlands to North West Scotland.

We have never been anything other than highly satisfied.

This is an exceptional Travelodge with comfortable rooms which are always spotlessly clean and have comfortable beds with fresh, clean linen.

Car parking is excellent and the Reception is friendly, welcoming and efficient. Staff are polite and helpful.

This really is a lovely place to stay.

Typical TL with friendly staff and good value rooms at the junction of the A1 (M) and A 66. It's handily placed to help break long journeys. Try and stay on the car park side as the road noise is quite intrusive on the other side.

After a four hour drive from Fife, it was a blessing to get into a room and relax.

Feet up and rested overnight for the next stage of our girlie road trip home with my mum.

Comfortable beds and an immaculately clean bathroom. The fan was fab in the heat and weather that we had.

Didn’t hear any Road noise at all from the room or any noise from the cars in the car park
