Our overall experience here was great, except for trying to sleep in Room 2, the noisy floorboards in the room above caused our first night's sleep to be ruined by someone walking around at all hours. Apart from that the room was lovely and comfortable.
The welcome you get from the staff and Andrew are first class and we couldn't have had better. We decided to eat here on our first night and the food was excellent with plenty of choice and some good beer to go with it, in fact we choose to eat here the night after too. The breakfasts are plentiful and keeps you going for the day.
I don't think the noisy floorboards would put us off staying again but maybe we would ask for a different room.
Thank you Andrew and staff for a very welcoming experience.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 2, the room above has very noisy floorboards if people are moving about in the night.

We've been to the Waddy Arms many times over the years and it remains a favourite. Nice atmosphere inside and out. Outdoor seating front and back (for those sunny Lancashire days!). Cozy indoor seating with fireplaces for when it's a bit chilly. The menu is always a step above classic pub food. On this trip we had a starter of scallops and crispy pork belly, followed by steak and local ale pie and the duck breast with au gratin potatoes - all seasoned and cooked well. Nice selection of local brews and the white wine was properly chilled. Lovely stop for a drive out in the country!

An overnight on the way home to the South Coast from the Isle Of Man. Beautiful drive through the Trough of Bowland. Really comfortable room, excellent and well priced food. Good selection of local beer and the Argentinian Malbec is recommended! Lovely setting, secure car park ..... what’s not to like???

A welcome stop on a cold winter's day. Comfortable, clean, cosy, friendly surroundings. Varied menu plus specials board. Lovely home-made dishes, all nicely presented and extremely tasty. Clean plates all round. One small criticism: chocolate and chilli tart quite dense and no chilli flavour but still lovely flavours. Nice beer garden so will have to find an excuse to pass by during warmer months. Shouldn't be too difficult as the surrounding area and countryside makes for a lovely drive out.

Those that know me, know I’m not one to generically wax lyrical about food and drink, however, upon my visits to this gem, I find my inner Bard rises to the surface !!!
We regularly travel the 200 mile round trip to this diamond and is the only place we repeat time and time again.
We sometimes think “maybe it won’t be as good as last time”, “maybe the beer will be off”, “maybe the food will be undercooked/overcooked”, even “maybe The portly host will have some jokes that aren’t out of the Stan Boardman book of giggles, 1978”, however, the moment we arrive, all our worries are cast aside.
The staff all seem genuinely happy and amused to be there which rubs off onto the service they provide !
The Ale, well, it’s always en point !!
The food ? Another level. Not sure on anything on the menu or specials board ? Ask Andrew and he will accommodate and offer alternatives !
The accommodation ? Always spotlessly clean and so damn comfortable. Our favourite thing is to go down to breakfast (an orgy for the taste buds) and take it back to the blissful bed on a tray to enjoy the last few moments of an overnight stay....
Forget the Savoy, The Ritz or the George V, get some real feel good factor and visit this place. Simply Loveleh !!!!!
