Came for mother’s day lunch. The food was nice however the service could have been better, it was quite slow. The garden is nice from what we saw out of the window and on a summers evening I’m sure it would be great.

This was a short overnight stay, in the middle of the pre-Christmas season. The place was buzzing with revellers and staff were very busy. The room had not been heated before our arrival so we sat with our coats on until the pitiful electric heater started to make some impact. There was no heat in the bathroom - we queried this with reception and were told that it was because the heating controls were centralised and the rest of the place was very warm. Still had no heat in the morning, so that seems incorrect.

The room was small but otherwise comfortable, although the layout seemed to have been devised with perhaps inadequate consideration of how guests might use it (mirrors in the wrong place, inadequate wardrobe space, for example).

Breakfast was fine, and staff were welcoming enough, but if an establishment opens its accommodation to paying guests, simple things (like putting the heating on) can make the difference between an average and rewarding experience.

Just had a lovely meal at this pretty country pub, it was a spur of the moment thing and luckily there was a table available as everywhere else nearby was full! There was plenty of Gluten free options and the quality of food and presentation was superb, I had a glass of house wine with my meal and again it was really nice! The staff were lovely and very quick service, my only disappointment was I was too full to eat dessert!
I’d definitely recommend this place!

We were a party of 6 today for Sunday lunch. Table was booked for 3pm and we placed our order at 3.15pm. We were not told when booking but out table was outside of the main restaurant area in the bar with noisy bar drinkers sitting right next to us at the bar.

Selection of breads arrived at 3.30pm just as an appetiser rather than starter which is what we wanted and ordered but the main course did not arrive until 4.45pm having just had 4 small rolls and dips! We chased the mains twice and to add insult to injury a member of staff came over with the till roll trying to detail the exact time line of events to us which quite frankly was incorrect and insulting ..they missed the point we were getting increasingly frustrated and had a genuine gripe!!

We then had to chase to find someone to place a desert order and the coffee order came up incorrect as well.

The food was tasty and good but was delivered on cold plates which meant it got cold quickly.

Busy pub that appears to struggle to cope when there are a lot of diners. Check where you are sitting when you book or you could find yourself in a very noisy area.

We are locals and will not be visiting again, real shame as we were looking forward to it. Good tasty food but awful service.
