This was our 3rd visit, still finding an entertaining with great atmosphere within the public house and hotel.
The staff are very pleasant across the reception to the restaurant, bar area and back of house, all giving a welcoming invitation to our break,

The breakfasts are 5* with a wide verity, from full breakfast to cereal including Danish and also to items that may not even be on the main menu.

The evening menu also provides varied options and are well present, this time we rebooked New Year’s Eve the menu and food was excellent.

Rooms are decorated and presented in a Victorian manor in deco and furniture and within character of the building.

Evening entertainment is provided ie music, quiz nights etc

We would intend to be revisiting The Fountain Inn again in the very near future.

Room Tip: Great pub hotel with great stall and atmosphere

Don’t remember the last time I left a review but we loved staying here so much I had to!

It was our first trip to the IOW and we were welcomed even before we checked in when we had a couple of questions, on arrival our dog has never been so welcomed and the lovely landlord and lady recommended us so many great places to go see and were just so friendly and warm it made us love the island immediately.

The welcome and service we received on arrival and subsequently every time we came back into the pub or hotel was absolutely faultless! The menu was great, food and service always so good in fact every staff member was incredibly warm and lovely to interact with. Breakfast was amazing, 10/10 full English if you love one, also so many options if you don’t/like a change, more choices than I’ve ever had for breakfast which was so nice!

Dog friendly doesn’t even cover it, our little dog gets tired after a big walk while away and the fountain became the haven we’d gravitate to for a drink to recharge afterwards because we’d all be able to relax, nothing was too much trouble, there are treats, blankets, beds and water bowls available. She was welcomed at breakfast with a sausage, or at dinner with her choice from the doggy menu which she’d absolutely recommend!

Our room was perfect with the loveliest harbour view and anything you’d need on hand, anything we asked for immediately provided. Free Wi-Fi that was easy to connect to a massive plus!

We were sad to leave and don’t think my dog will ever get over this wonderful standard she has come to expect and compare every hotel to from now on 🤣

Thank you so much we can’t wait to and definitely will come back ❤️

This is an Inn not a hotel so great atmosphere in the traditional British Inn style but if you are wanting big 5 star rooms with 5 star brand names etc then look elsewhere.

Rooms are marginally small but made up for it by excellent staff and a warm inviting pub. If you are traveling with pets there is no better place as all pets welcome and even a doggie menu in the bar.

The location is excellent right on the waterfront and in the centre of the main village.

In summary good value for money , great staff, pet friendly although rooms a tad small and worth a return visit.

At first glance it looked alright from outside and even the reception , however the rooms are awful, dreadfully outdated, the bed feels like it's made from rocks and the rooms need ripping out and redecorating, if you can manage to lay down on a bed of nails then good luck sleeping with the windows constantly banging and constant noise from pubs nearby.

Had dinner there and I personally wanted to throw it straight across the kitchen, it was shocking , lasagna, looked like it was cooked several days ago then reheated, dry as the Sahara desert and completely burnt to hell.

Shower room was dirty and again severely outdated with both mould and some kind of small insects.

Wouldn't return even if you paid ME to stay.

Isle of Wight is beautiful though, crossing is a bit of a rip off but is what it is , as for this place , I'f I had to pay what I thought it was worth I might pay 15 quid if they supplied a mattress topper, if not they would have to pay me, my opinion. ......avoid !

A most splendid Christmas lunch with lots of little touches like chocs, a pressie, Prosecco and a beautifully set table. Very busy but the staff coped very well. Food all very good and tasty. So much better than cooking !
