At first glance it looked alright from outside and even the reception , however the rooms are awful, dreadfully outdated, the bed feels like it's made from rocks and the rooms need ripping out and redecorating, if you can manage to lay down on a bed of nails then good luck sleeping with the windows constantly banging and constant noise from pubs nearby.
Had dinner there and I personally wanted to throw it straight across the kitchen, it was shocking , lasagna, looked like it was cooked several days ago then reheated, dry as the Sahara desert and completely burnt to hell.
Shower room was dirty and again severely outdated with both mould and some kind of small insects.
Wouldn't return even if you paid ME to stay.
Isle of Wight is beautiful though, crossing is a bit of a rip off but is what it is , as for this place , I'f I had to pay what I thought it was worth I might pay 15 quid if they supplied a mattress topper, if not they would have to pay me, my opinion. ......avoid !
